It's more of a challenge to create your own game than a mod, which is part of why the developer(s?) is (are) doing this.

I'd rather mirror the game structure than just create a mod of it. It's one thing to create content for a game, it's another to create the uh, engine.

There's a ton of background stuff to be done there, but i'm sure you're skilled enough to implement that.
