They had all the maps and lots of info but, now they're gone.

What gives?

Install Quake 3 OR Open Arena.

Extract 'Main' True combat folder to main Open Arena/Q3 folder.

Any extra folders just add to the True Combat Folder.

Of course, lots of people play, just at different times.

Great game that also works with the 'True Combat' mod, making it a GREAT pair of games for free.

Some people don't like playing games online, some do.

ANY game without single player (offline) is NOT a proper game at all, so be quiet.

WOW, just found this on youtube and it looks VERY nice indeed, I'm amazed theres been no feedback on this page.

The fact it has bot support makes it even better (I wish all these new 'free' fps games had that}.

I also hope this works with the 1.3 patch as the 1.3.1 patch is very dodgy.

I have XP but do not want to use the 1.3.1 patch as its crap and mainly for Vista.

Which of these versions should one use for Windows XP running the original 1.3 patch?

Wow, after hearing that the gtx2 mod won't be released I'm very pleased to find this.

This is a VERY nice mod indeed.

I play this in Open Arena and it works wonderfully, apart from a few missing textures which is not often at all.
The graphics are impressive for a quake 3 engine game and very realistic.The urban levels set in daylight look VERY similar to those found in something like Half Life 2.

It has bot support and lots of maps along with having more maps to download online.

The main downside is that it is essentially a single player or LAN game now as there are no one online anymore. I find this incredible but understandable as the sequel called TC Elite is slightly better but,does not have bot support single player mode.

This game is completely free as open arena is completely free and the pair together make for one of the best freeware FPS downloads around.

One thing missing from the Elite version is BOT support.

Thats what makes True Combat such a great mod. When all the Elite servers are gone, its a dead game, whereas TC can still keep going using bots.

I have BOBOT for ET which works great for single player games but not sure about any for True Combat.

The guards are taking the frozen Han to the landing platform but Boba decides to stick around the corridors, you know the bit where Boba fires at Luke? The duel begins.

The duel carries out onto the landing platform where the slave 1 awaits and the battle continues. CLASSIC.

Wow, the train ride sounds great.

I did LOVE the expansive feel of the final level with the lava (sry forgot the name) where you have to drive the vehicle down into the jaws of satan,through the lava then on to the castle.

It felt massive and there was a sense of awe in terms of height and area size. REAL nice.

I hope things go well for you guys as this is shaping up to be a sleeper hit on the indie scene. I already have my credit card waiting.

This mod is REALLY good and very expansive.

Some environments are huge and the whole thing looks and feels great.

Who'd of thought UT3 would end up being this essential.

When I bought this game i had no idea it would turn out to be this much fun. These modders are absolute legends and very generous with there creations.

ps. Wing Commander is back,its free, 3D AND it has HDR FX like Bloom etc.

For any Wing Commander fans out there, there is a NEW, free standalone game available. Its called 'Wing Commander Standoff' and its a mod for WC Special Ops. Special Ops is now FREE again and WC Standoff is finished and bundled into 3 downloads giving 2 WC games BOTH for free and both GL enhanced.

Sry for the plug but its a VERY important release for a TOP class freebie.

This game costs about 5 pounds NEW and about 3 2nd hand.

For that you get The Haunted, The Ball, UT2D, Black Siera and MANY other mods which make buying this 1 game actually a bumper pack of LOTS of different games.

UT3 is actually a crap game by itself, VERY derivative and buggy as hell. If it wasn't for all these GREAT mods, I'd bin UT3 in a second, no question.

With these mods, UT3 becomes an ESSENTIAL purchase and, one that costs pennies.

Its a TOP NOTCH mod but I dont play it online, just single player or on LAN.

If you get this, then you HAVE to get the bonus maps for it to. They're on here, a few didn't work but about 8 out of 12 did.

Its almost a full fledged game now due to the extra maps.

ESSENTIAL mod.

Another vote for ELITE FORCE 3.

Now that mod would kick SERIOUS ***.

Are you saying that you cant even play single player UT3 WITHOUT registering the game with gamespy?

I've just bought it (for 5 bucks)and have NO intention of playing multiplayer, just single, so if it needs registration then its going back to the shop.

Chris Roberts unfortunately went completely senile around the time Freelancer was made.

He totally forgot about his past,went off and made a diabolical movie and then, luckily for us, was sectioned under the mental health act.

Stay away from the Geonosis Arena in Movie duels 2 then if you hate lag, that ones in stasis.

Forget 'Ultimate crap edition' or whatever it is called.

Wector, Jediwill and these guys are making Jedi Academy THE star wars game to own and possibly the best star wars game in history.

Same here.

Cad Bane is in the Character mod and crashes the game EVERYTIME.

All the other characters are fine, just Bane so its not a biggie.
