Desura Linux Creating Shortcuts

PersonGuy17 Blog

Does anyone know how to create shortcuts for games... in Ubuntu Linux? I could just look it up, but I want to hear it from anyone on Desura, right now, who might care to answer my question. And not just a desktop icon, I mean an actual sidebar icon that I can just drag and drop into my sidebar. Needed code would be great, because I'm not THAT much of a Linux n00b. I thank ye.

Gateways

PersonGuy17 Blog

I downloaded a mod, titled "Gateways", and I gotta say, this is a pretty good mod. So far, I've only gotten to the second level, (I believe) but it's good... and extremely difficult.

I like what I'm playing so far, but killing hoardes of enemies in Gateways feels like spawning a swarm of NPC's in GMod: it's monotonous, it's gory, and it's a little bit silly. Some of the textures seem a bit out-of-place, too. However, I like what I'm seeing (and playing) so far. It's pretty good now, and I have some automatic gripes about it, but I'll let you know how it all pans out in the future.

Marble Arena 2 Part 2

So I was playing an old level, particularly Tutorial 4, I believe, and I gotta say: pushing marbles around is really entertaining. Whether it's pushing them into the lava or in a corner, it's fun to watch the marbles slip and bounce all over the place. I love it when the A.I. in a game is not only challenging, but fun to play with, as well. Two out of two thumbs up to the developers there. I'm being serious, it's awesome to have fun A.I. like this.

Desura vs. Steam... GO!

PersonGuy17 Blog

This isn't going to be very long, but one advantage that Desura has over Steam is that there are less loading times and a lot less bugs that cause the launcher to freeze.

Oh, sure, there are many other differences, but that's just one. I hope to list more differences in the near future. Peace and happiness to all, and have a good day.

Marble Arena 2

Well, there is one level that I found quite frustrating, particularly one part: the level titled "Village", the first level after the tutorial levels in the game. I'm not done with this level set yet, but so far it's been semi-smooth sailing. In this level, there are (from memory) six red stars on top of a slanted-roofed house; (they're all slanted-roofed, but this is the only one with stars on top of it.) I couldn't get at it from the top level you start on in the beginning of the level, nor could I get it from looping around the level, using the platforms from another side of the level. The only way I could get at the stars is by getting a triple-jump, edging forward, bouncing off the slanted roof, and keep on doing that until I get the stars. I finally completed the level, (over-par, of course) but the combination of the jagged fence, the tight space, and the camera angle (that was only wonky in that particular area of the level, much to my expense) made it seem like there was an error in the level design, a misplacement of the stars, or just one of those "I-can-almost-reach-it" challenges. I ask this question officialy now: "Is there another way to get those stars, or is it just one of those extremely hard oddball puzzles in an overall extremely easy level?" Let me know what you think, and be nice about it. I thank ye.
