if u're experiencing no 3d graphics or a grey screen try to play in windowed mode.

1) Launch regular Half-Life. Go to video options, and make sure "Allow custom content" is checked.

2) after this make a copy of the whole directory (I repeat a COPY because 450 Mb are like peanuts nowadays) of Half-Life files located now on "Common" directory to the old "temp" dir and u're ready to play.
