AFAIK, they didn't work on the WOTR yet and the Demo is just to Show off the new playstyle and gain some Feedback.

As I said in my last comment (it should be on this same page), Mirkwood would be more interesting as an own faction with Lothlorien as a subfaction, because there is just much more material for Mirkwood. We got at least heavy cavalry, "light" infantry, heavy infantry and elite infantry, while with Lothlorien there is only light infantry, heavy bowmen/sword infantry and elite infantry.

But regarding that cavalry, it could easily replace the elkriders (even though this does not have to happen), which would put more emphasize on Thranduil, being the only one riding a big, ******* elk. Also, at least the heavy cavalry was in the movie.

Maybe the spell book should be based on Lothlorien, especially Galadriel. Other than that, Lothlorien could be a subfaction like Mirkwood is now.

You could even try to Balance them and make Lothlorien, even though it is a subfaction, a part almost as big as Mirkwood itself and rename the faction to Woodelves.

Nah.
Yes Galardiel Plays a way more important role than Thranduil, but that's all Lothlorien has. The only one really doing anything in Lothlorien is Galadriel, at least in the third Age during the time of Hobbit and LOTR. Other than that, Lothlorien has no Impact whatsoever, Mirkwood, however, has Legolas (a fan favorite) and a significant Impact on what happens in the third Age.

But we could argue all we want, my main Argument is just that Mirkwood falls really short in Edain 4.0, even though they have a big role (at least in the Hobbit movies). Best Option IMO, would be to split them into own factions or being able to choose at the beginning if you want to Play Mirkwood or Lothlorien or Combine them into one faction, where you build both buildings at one fortress.

But tbh, I don't expect any Major changes to happen before the release of Lothlorien as a faction, because it would just be way too much work to just start everythign almost from scratch again.

Oh and, it's been a Long time since I read the books, but I think in the Hobbit book there is no mention of them coming from Dol Guldur. I think it is just said that they have gathered an army in the Misty Mountains as soon as they have heard of the death of Smaug and then wanted to take Erebor because of the treassure lieing in there. And the troops weren't under "direct" control either, Bolg was their leader.

In all Tolkien books, yes, but not in the time line from Hobbit and LOTR. They didn't appear in the Hobbit and in LOTR they were only some Kind of stop for the Fellowship. Yes, there role wasn't as small, cause Galadriel had wise words to say, but Mirkwood's was way bigger. In the Hobbit, the dwarves crossed Mirkwood and later on an army of Mirkwood took part in the battle of five armies. Later on, it helped to throw down Dol Guldur (AFAIK) and continued to fight against the troops of Sauron. Gollum was also Held captive in Mirkwood for a Long time. During LOTR, they fought back further attacks coming from Dol Guldur and, along with Lorien, defeated Dol Guldur once and for all.

As a force, Mirkwood had a large Impact on Middle earth during that time Frame - the only Thing important about Lothlorien is Galadriel.

Oh and concerning the Palace guard's Color:

"In The Desolation of Smaug the colour of the Palace Guards is mostly beige, but we have decided to use more different colours, to avoid that the units look too monochrome from the distance. Here we think that the aesthetic of the game is more important than an uniform design."

I don't think that it would look too monochrome, if you had taken the Colors from the movies, because
A: In the movies, the Robes of the Palace guards seem to be more beige, while the Robes of the armoured Units seem to be red and also the armor of the Palace guards does not Seem as shining and golden as the armor of the usual armored Units. See here for the Palace guards: I.ytimg.com

B: You could also Change the armor when they are upgraded with heavy armor to the silver armor the Palace guards wear in BOFA: Games-workshop.com

Okay, I have thought Long about this, cause it always bothered me that Dol Guldur is with Mordor and all the orcs of BOFA are therefore as well, but the heroes (Azog etc.) are with the Misty Mountains.
So I thought about (with the Misty Mountains) being able to make an alliance with Mordor (like it was in 3.8.1 between Lothlorien and Mirkwood) which grants the Misty Mountains the ability to recruit Moria orcs (or maybe they should already be implemented without the alliance, but only heavy armor etc. is available for them with the alliance) and all the some other enemy Units there were in BOFA (like upgrade the trolls to have catapults on their backs or give them armor?)

I haven't read many of the News, so I am not sure if, at all, the BOFA Units are already implemented or not, but I would replace the Units which are digging tunnels with the great earth-eaters we saw in the movie cause it is kinda unrealistic that 5 goblins can dig a whole tunnel in a couple of seconds.
Also, I would cut off the "Dol Guldur" orcs from Mordor, because those orcs are not from Dol Guldur, but Moria.

On a very different note, I do not think that Lothlorien should be a main faction anymore, because of their Little role in the movies. I think their role should be switched with Mirkwood.

I don't know if this is planned, but I don't think it is implemented yet, but I think that on certain maps (especially siege maps) you should have easier Access to People living there. For example, you should have easy Access to Mirkwood Units/buildings if you defend mirkwood with lothlorien, Dol Amroth Units/buildings if you defend Dol Amroth with Gondor or Dol Guldur Units/buildings if you defend with Mordor etc.

Also, another Thing that I do not if it is planned yet, but what about making the war of the ring actually about the ring and not just having a ring on every map you fight on?

I didn't read lots of the News, so I am very sorry if the Edain Team has already commented on it and I'm just repeating it.

Yeah, I know, but the question was meant to be more like in General, will it take a couple of weeks, or a couple of months? Oh and will they add one faction after another or like two to three at one time? And if the Edain Team has already decided on which they faction they are bringing out next?

Well, the dwarves won because the eagles along with Beorn and Radagast arrived. The goats are prob in the Extended Edition and so it makes sense that they'll be on the battle field. And there was one volley fired by the elves which wasn't shown (it's hard to explain; Thranduil ordered them to aim and they shot but before you could see them shoot, the camera switched back to the battle between orcs & dwarves or something. I guess there'll be a full volley in the Extended Edition). Also, in General you didn't really get much to see from the fighting elves.
Anyways, I feel like the Extended Edition will be awesome

Even if this mod won't do it, I think sooner or later we will get our TES Lotr mod. There've been so many Projects on this and maybe someday one will be able to upload something big and as soon as it is uploaded, WB can't really stop it anymore and some other Team can easily continue the work.

All Warner Bros want is Money, right? It's about using their names and such, right? And since this is just a non Profit mod, this wouldn't cost too much, right?
Then why don't you make a Kickstarter Project and ask for the Money you Need to have to be able to continue this. You one of the biggest fanbases on here.

I got some other ideas for future plans now:
- Let the dragonriders, while on Dragon, shoot arrows and cast spells
- Let the dragonriders only be able to Mount the Dragons while they are on the ground
- Signifcantly raise the defence of the Dragon, while carrying a dragonrider. (Riders can destroy enemy arrows with spells, so it is harder to kill them)
- Do not make urgals as weak as goblins. AFAIK they are larger and stronger than men. So maybe cut off the goblin models and instead make them a Little bit weaker half trolls.

Then maybe you could look for some good map maker, who could start making maps for this mod. Just do an update once the first map is finished and we will see how good this works out.

Would keep this mod interesting and Ouranos has less work.

But then I would really like if Ouranos does fix that 'dismount Dragon -> rider death' bug and also fix the wings of the Dragons.
Also do not make the Dragons walk over their enemys (animations look a Little bit creepy and it is uneffective), but let them burst fire while they are on the ground.
Just some ideas ...

Just make the evil factions stronger and until they are strong enough, I'm okay with the war. But do not let this war be the final Version, just too get more fun right now and later on, make peace between them and therefore new stronger evil factions

Also wegen der Kavallerie meinte ich nicht, dass die komplett auf Kavallerie setzen, sondern dass sie, wie man im Film oft sieht, ihre eigene Festung mit Infanterie verteidigen, aber nicht wirklich mit ihnen angreifen, sondern eher mit kleinen Kavallerieeinheiten das Land um sie herum auskundschaften und eventuell Feinde töten. Wenn sie dann wiederum eine große Festung angreifen nehmen die auch wieder eine Infanterie-Armee mit.

Also, ich hab mal ein bisschen darüber nachgedacht, was man noch bei 4.0 ergänzen könnte:
-(eventuell zwei neue Fraktionen: Düsterwald und Die freien Völker von Eriador)
-Die 'Festungen' aufwerten, sodass zum Beispiel anfangs die Mauern nicht begehbar sind, nach dem ersten aufwerten schon. Vielleicht werden irgendwann auch die Grenzen erweitert (Mauern abreißen und in einem größerem Umfang wieder aufbauen, sodass es mehr Bauplätze gibt)/Zumindest sollte man die Möglichkeit haben alle Gebäude, die es nur innerhalb der Festung gibt, zu bauen
-Düsterwald (und Lothlorien) sollten vorallem darauf setzen sich in Wäldern zu verstecken (vielleicht sind sogar die Gebäude anfangs unsichtbar), indem sie nur vom Gegner gesehen werden können, wenn man mit der Maus über sie geht und die Maus dann rot wird, oder indem man Einheiten ganz in der Nähe hat. Man kann die Düsterwaldeinheiten aber nicht im Wald sehen, wenn sie sich bewegen oder angreifen (abgesehen von den Pfeilen)
-Bruchtal sollte größtenteils auf Kavallerie setzen und somit immer wieder gegnerische Ressourcengebäude oder ähnliches zerstören.
-Bruchtal sollte bessere Bogenschützen bekommen
-Die Dunendain von Bruchtal sollten zwar gute Bogenschützen sein, aber nicht so gut wie Bruchtals, als leichte Infanterie von Bruchtal fungieren und entweder so ähnlich wie die Einheiten von Düsterwald sein (also sich gut im Wald verstecken können, dann hätte man als Elbenspieler auch nicht soviel Umgewöhnung, wenn man mal eine andere Elbenfraktion spielt) oder komplett gestrichen werden, da es sein könnte, dass (wie bei Rohan) viele Bruchtalspieler fast nur noch Dunedain spielen

After you finished the current project, could you make an eragon mod for skyrim? I know it is not as good as Lord of the rings, but with eragon there are higher chances to make it actually happen, because all the rights belong to Cristopher Paolini at the moment (https://twitter.com/paolini/status/204503836776349696). also there are many fans who would really love that mod and because of you seem to be REALLY good modders, this mod would get really great!
