the main quest is being planned to be in a number of ways, the main story will be linear (in that it tells the story of the trilogy) however, there will be a full set of sidequests around the map (eg. i've written quests for my region Enedwaith, though it has little or no part in the main quest, the goal is to make a game, not just a story because Tolkein has already done that because than we ever could
As for how far along we are, many of the important regions are finished or in a developed WIP, though the structures and towns are still in an early stage - however we have already began building interiors for Bree

TES5 is in the works, I'm pretty sure it's on the back burner while they make Fallout : New Vegas, but I'm with a team working an a Total Conversion for Oblivion, which will be a nice way for you to waste time, you can see our progress here: Moddb.com

I was reading the comment war there earlier.
And to beren i was a single-man modder before and i know how hard modding something like this is, i was more into MTW modding but meh...
but what i'm posting is that i am a scripter (not to experienced but meh)
i already sent a message about the voice acting,so check that.
andi can edit settlement patterns
i can't model but i would mind learning , especially with help from a modeller as obviously as talented as you obviously are, your models are better than BFME 2's(and i'd know , i mod that too)
just to say, great work the mod rocks and your work is top notch - as good as Hellenic was , and lets face it Hellenic is the best MTW mod.
