The Chronicles of Myrtana takes place 10 years before the events of Gothic 1, so you don't need to play Gothic 1 & 2 to understand the story. I encourage you to do it though, because you'll get used to the old controls and see how we changed some mechanics. In addition, you will meet some of the characters who later appear in Chronicles.

As we mentioned in the patch note, patch don't force you to start new playthrough, you can load your savegames and continue :)

Hey, DX11 works and is compatible with CoM. Can be installed, but not required.
At this point the supported DX11 version for the mod is: Github.com. Other DX11 versions may be unstable or cause visual issues that prevent gameplay.
