Way excited for this game. Corey/any of the devs, are you guys still looking at a December release as per moddb webpage? I don't really care how long it takes: I'd rather you take your time to get it where you want it (which is probably where it'll be amazing).

Game looks so good, and I've probably played about 50 hrs of Imperial Civil War on SWEAW. This will drag me back into Sins so easily... Great job guys, almost there from what I can tell!

Do you guys have forums anywhere?

If you're folder is not there, it may be because you have never installed a mod before. Launch the normal Sins game, and go to Options -> Mods. There, click 'Show Mod Path'. That will display the path to the Rebellion 1.80 Mods folder, but if the folder wasn't there originally, it will also create that folder. Now it should be there, and you should be able to follow the instructions the STA team have provided.

I know how to create mines, just not how to get rid of them. Thanks for the response. I'm very glad to hear that you have an expansion planned. Sounds like it will be very fun :) Good luck. I'm sure I'll throw out some more comments as I get further into the game. One quick one, I love the custom maps you guys have made. Absolutely awesome.

Review Part 2.
I currently only have two quips with the mod, which considering it's in beta, and I'm very picky, is a sign that the mod is very, very good. The first, is that some of the descriptions could do with work. I've never been an enormous fan of the descriptions in the Sins game, and have been looking for total conversion mods to simplify them out a little, make it easier to tell what the primary roll of the craft is, without spending a short paragraph explaining that. Getting to the point would've been nice from Ironclad, and the fact you guys haven't done that isn't really especially noteworthy. I would however like to see the layout of the tech trees polished up a little, especially in the Diplomacy trees. I like the changes made, but I think they could be polished and made more streamlined, and generally easier to see where they're going and how.

The second thing is mines. Freakin' mines. I can never seem to find which craft is designed to destroy or otherwise remove mines. Now, this is probably me not paying nearly enough attention to what every craft does, but it would be nice if someone could tell me, or the description just had something like:

Role: Minesweeper

Which is similar to the kind of description changes I'd like to see in other ships. i.e. For capships: Role: Carrier, Role: Combat Support. It's a pretty simple change, but one I find goes a long way.

Overall, however, I would rank this as easily one of the best total conversion mods I have ever played, not including just mods for Sins, but for all the other heavily modded games I play. Awesome. Thanks for the hard and dedicated work, and I hope to see this mod reach for even greater heights down the track. 9/10.

Review Part 1.
So I've played several games, some very large, some very small, so far. I've played and won as every race, and liked some more than others, but overall, I liked them all immensely.

The general gameplay mechanics that you have changed, I find myself enjoying. Most of the new additions, I find myself enjoying. I have had some trouble fighting against the Borg, but then, well, that's to be expected. Overall, the races feel very balanced.

Double check if the mod shows up in the enabledMods.txt file in the Rebellion 1.80 Mods folder. If it doesn't, try copy pasting the txt file with the same name in the rar into the 1.80 Mods folder.

Also, remember to click Apply Changes, not just enable mod, when in game...

Being that Rebellion is a Steam only game, we're all playing it through Steam. For installation, just open the rar, and select the mod folder, and the enabledMods.txt file, and drop them in the specified folder.

Loving it so far. Played a game as each of the races. The one little bug (I think?) that stands out to me, for some reason, is that for the Borg, the Advanced Construction Matrix, for cap ships, takes up 4 logistical slots, while the frigate one costs 8 logistical slots. I don't know if it was intended or not... seems odd.

I've only played one game with the Flood. I accidentally made them attack someone, by paying them. I died. Now, I just turn Flood off, saves me the trouble.

I just ended up manually stacking the three tab stacks of them I had. Normally I wouldn't even bring bombers in until after I'd taken control of the planet's space, but being that Charon's are kinda of a mainstay of the UNSC frigate fleet, I can't really do that with them. Oh well.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Hey, I don't know if this is a known bug, but in the few games I've played, I found this.

If you have a fleet, and command it to bomb a planet, normally all the ships in the fleet that can bomb planets will go and do it, and the others will just ignore the order. But Charon-class frigates, which can bomb planets, don't. They just ignore the order as well.

It took resources, half of my allies planets being destroyed cos I couldn't go help him, about three cap ships, and a dozen odd frigates. But I killed it. Eventually.

Very impressed with the mod so far. Easily one of the best conversions for Rebellion, even though it's still in alpha.

So I've been playing the mod for a bit, and I seem to have found something very interesting. While trying to colonise the planet immediately next to my home planet, I ran into a native ship called 'The Mother of Invention', which has:

Armor 1000
Chance to Dodge 1000%

Intentional? :)

Looks amazing! As a long time fan of Sins and Star Wars, I've been looking for Star Wars mods for the game for ages. SOGE is well modelled, except for some reason, the AI doesn't seem to want to do much of anything ever at all. Requiem is good, but I want a Star Wars-only mod. Having discovered ICW recently, and loving it, I can't wait for the Ascendancy release!

Great job on the menu, btw!

I'm pretty sure what he is getting at is that he can launch the game just fine, and enter skirmish mode just fine, but when he clicks the Space Station, no build options appear. Don't know why...

It works just fine for me... Been waiting for this for a while! Great job guys!

Is there a way to edit the code for the Pentastar Space Units without editing the code for the references (ie. the Remnant ships that have been referred to), specifically, build_time and population_value? If I just created two new lines of code under each ship in pentastar_space.xml, would the game adopt the build time specified in pentastar_space.xml, or would it continue to use the build time specified in the remnant_space_units.xml?

Very quickly, I was wondering if anybody could let me know which .xml contains the shipyards? And also the data for the Pentastar space units?

I've owned Sins for a while now, and love the SW mods out there for it, namely SOGE and Requiem. But I somehow get the feeling, that if this mod is going to be as good as ICW is for FoC, Ascendancy is going to become my new favorite mod for SOASE.

Good luck guys, can't wait.

I don't know if you guys are any good with Desura, but I would like to port most of my FoC mods into Desura, but because I have Steam EaW Gold, whenever I go into Desura and try to launch a mod, it simply launches vanilla EaW instead of modded FoC. I was wondering if any of you guys here knew of a workaround to this little problem.

Cheers. I sometimes get a little bored playing the standard version of the game, and its mods, so I create cheat mods that reduce ship build times, just to see the lasers...

Would somebody be willing to tell me where I can find the data for the Imperial Remnants' space units in the XML files? I've found the Hand, and the New Republic, but am missing the IR.
