On colonies, if a colony becomes large enough will we see night side lights from space?

Will there be orbital bombardment to damage or destroy colonies? If so is there planet scarring or ecosystem damage from bombarding a planet too much? Liberally nuking a bunch of colonies on a planet might kick up soot into the atmosphere and send the planet into a nuclear winter.

Also through the programs system can we create various government types for our faction? Like doing certain programs might make your faction into a liberal democracy that's prone to popular protests or you can pass programs that might turn your faction into a dictatorship of slaves with mind control implants and skin embedded tracking devices.

Heya, welcome back and I'm glad to see the mod make some more progress!

I have some feedback and suggestions after reading the latest news post:

-A grand Galactic Conquest, something like the Progressive campaigns in Thrawn's Revenge maybe? A 80-110ish planet Sandbox campaign can be nice for replayability since it allows the player write their own story.

-Planetary bombarbment/glassing ability for the Sith as a whole. The Sith Empire lived under an unofficial motto of overuse, abuse, and if those don't work then destroy it. A lot of higher-up Sith Lords in the Empire didn't just want to rule the Galaxy, but destroy it completely.

-Planet restoration. The Republic should be able to restore planets via a recruitable agent from Ithor, since the Ithorians restored a lot of the planetary damage from the wars. It would balance out planetary glassing.

-Some sort of area of recruitment for Mandalorians. As they expanded during the war the Mandals struggled with trying to expand their army, which led to mass-conscription of poorly trained soldiers. On home worlds and nearby worlds Mandalorians could recruit elite troops, various clan units, etc. but the more distant worlds get conscripts and weaker troop classes.

I saw the grey variants of Star Destroyers and Venators, will those be only available to the Empire in the new post-Clone Wars scenario you're making? I'm just a bit concerned about unit bloat and clutter on the build menu which can push other units off the menu due to GUI space issues. There are a lot of mods out there that have a lot of units in them but they don't serve a purpose and just clutter up everything. RaW had the opposite issue where there wasn't enough unit variety, so to find that balance is important.

Other than that I do enjoy the units you're adding. As long as they're properly balanced with the existing units. We all know how badly RaW needs balance. :D

iirc Didn't Awakening of The Rebellion downscale all the ships so that they were all smaller and moved around the map and each other easier? Or is my mind lying to me? Either way it's an idea?

Viscount would be nice for the New Republic as long as it replaces the Mandator or something to represent the New Republic standardizing their fleet instead of having the rag-tag fleet they had as the Rebellion.

Like I said, I think it may have to do with the raid mechanic. It happened in my game after they took a planet that was separated by at least two other planets in each hyperspace path to their nearest owned planet connected to their territory.

was the cause of the massive lag that happens after 70 or so turns ever addressed? I've noticed it seems to happen when the AI ends up with a lot of planets and then captures one that is far separated from the rest. It's like it gets hung up on movements due to that one far off planet.

How do you plan on doing the Rogue One and New Trilogy campaigns? Will the Awakening of The Rebellion and New Republic campaigns based around the Legacy stuff still be around?

Also does this mean that the normal "post episode IV" campaign will have Obi-Wan and Grand Moff Tarkin removed, since they would be in the Rogue One era now?

So do you have any ideas for land combat to make it interesting? In vanilla and some other mods land combat always ends up being a case of taking a mass of units and slamming them into another mass of units, or auto-resolving the battle. Is there a way to mitigate or prevent that?

Will the Rebels be getting armor variants for lava worlds? I think the current version they just wear their standard gear and it looks odd how they're running around unprotected as cinder and ash flies around them.

There needs to be an option for citizen rights and the ability to dissolve and abolish, or create a senate. So you can turn your Republic into an Empire. :)

Edit: Also for Droids maybe have a "droid programming" option that either lets them have free-will, limited autonomy, or the more common "scheduled wipe". Star Wars droids seem to develop free-will and personalities quickly, so someone wanting complete control would want them completely subservient.

So what happened to this mod? The last I checked Z3r0x had made a surprise return, restored the forums and started working on the mod again. Then I come back and the forums are dead and there's a github with one guy who hasn't updated it in 8 months. :(

Is the Galactic Conquest planned to be more arcade-like or more like a canon simulation like how Awakening of The Rebellion is set up? To go into detail, Awakening of The Rebellion has building tiers that represent the establishment of a base on a planet as well as certain buildings that would determine if the planet will be military or economically focused as to prevent a player from taking over the galactic map too easily.

I'm curious to see what the Asguard land units look like. What will they be using as armored vehicles? I don't think they ever had tanks that could fit through a stargate.

I know the mod is based around the game "Starwars Rebellion" but will there be GC map one day that would reflect the canon galaxy? With the current GC map you can simply set up fleets at the various choke points such as the intersection stations that separate the outer rim from the inner system and repel all attacks while you build up your planets and ships at leisure.

How close to canon will you make the unit strengths? Like will Kull warriors be invincible to infantry ballistic and energy weapons (except the Kull nullifier if it's in)?
