There should be a toggle to switch it to Galactic Standard. LOL. I agree on both points. A legible, but less bold text may be in order.

Even if there is no money to be gained, Studios worry about competition. When free, passion-driven projects begin to outshine their overpriced, undersupported excuses for "AAA" games, they will not want to spend more time and money in further development. It's easier to just remove the competition. So in the end, it is not about them LOSING money, so much as them not having to SPEND their money.

I think free mods should be legally protected... but oh well.

Hmm. Definitely an acute resemblance there for sure. What's actually going on is me conflating my head canon with established legends lore again. I have had this opinion of the Republic class for years, either self-created or drawn from role-playing (can't remember now). It gets difficult to separate things later on, especially when they seem to make sense (NR is broke, how in the world did it build so many brand new ships that can magically take on ISD-1s? Makes sense if they simply stripped the weapons off captured ISDs that they didn't want to use due to fear/empire-memories and put them on a new Rendili-Calamari chassis. Lots of time and weapon costs saved). I remember being quite amused when the Starhawk essentially appropriated the context. But either way, yes, I am wrong about the Republic class lore. Regarding the Majestic, it's rapid phasing out taints much of my opinion. All on all, all of the Cracked Threat Dossier stuff is hard for me to take at face value.

Interesting. So your take on the Maelstrom asthetics wise is pretty much a massively bulked up version of the Praetor I, including modernizing elements from the Acclamator and Secutor of the Praetor I, While the Praetor II was just a bit bigger with a completely different/original design (which to be fair reminds me more of a giant Acclamator).

Plus the Lucrehulk's various classes, and the Bulwark Cruisers, I am guessing. And the Melevolence, etc?

IDK. The Republics were only cheaper because they were essentially rebuilt from the many ISD I and IIs that the New Republic came into possession of as the 2nd GCW unfolded.

Rather than just use the ships as is, the NR wanted to avoid associations with the Empire, and so took the time to unbuild many of them, recombining them into the republic class. Hull strength wasn't great as a result, but MC shielding helped make up for it. Relatively cheap and quick to build, but can't really take on an ISD II head to head, and may even struggle against an ISD I.

I think your ranking ("MC80 -> MC80b -> Majestic -> Republic SD -> MC90 -> Nebula.") is mostly correct, but I would switch the majestic and MC80b. Maybe even move the majestic below the MC80... it's pretty much horrible. In short, the NR should have just stuck with the Mon Monthma SD refit. More effective, less costly, and less time consuming.

Nice! Finally a real MDU for the empire, rather than renditions of the vanilla that scream "I was made for this game and look like I belong in C&C!"

Even so, I think they dropped the ball with the design.... horrible firing arc on lower turret... no side-tracking on main side turrets... exposed gunner... this design almost seems to be from the clone wars...

Fantastic Visuals! I really like the planet texture. If I had 1 constructive criticism, I would say that the horizon-effect could be a little less "tall" - not sure whether the angle aggravates that or not.

Rotating turrets!!! An ongoing thought I had is how you guys are going to handle capital ship fire... in the original, some ships were easy, such as the CR90, just coming from the main turrets. All the larger ships: star destroyers, EF76s, and MC80s had random disperson. Will this be adjusted into actual "batteries" of weapons? Will the CR90 get its smaller laser cannons, for example? Any chance these smaller batteries may be targetable? For example, in the original game, the SD's shield generators could be taken out. Just some thoughts. You guys are doing great work!

Yes - it's a unique feature of the Viscount. Undockable MC80 Home One types that remain in recessed ports on the hulls surface until needed. They are still working on getting the timer right though as it is a big power spike for such an already powerful unit. Some people have questions about the canonicity.

Of course, without a hyperdrive, shields, and good armor, it is unclear why it has an astromech. Draw have them since they were elite starfighters, but v-wings were more run of the mill.

Farseer... You did it! It's been years, I have been following since I was a teenager, and along the way I have collected a wife and kids to distract me... But never fear! I will make time to bask in the awe of what I know will be a masterpiece. Frankly, there are so many things I want to do in my life, and time just runs away,... It is easy to feel like one can never achieve their dreams. Thank you for pushing back on that!

Bravo! I have thought about restructuring ground combat along similar lines for some time, utilizing landing buildings to effectively turn capture points into bases, and producing troops. If course, my moods have always lacked a technical aspect as I simply don't have time to do anything other than muddle around. Bravo for being willing to take such a leap, and I hope you will push through to it's glorious realization!

Shield generator of doom. Maybe a shield overcharge ability that completely drains weapons and engine power? LOL Doesn't fit with Imperial concepts and it is understandable why the Praetor II was discontinued almost immediately after leaving prototyping - most of the RD was done by the Republic anyway.

Also, is the community pretty much at a consensus now that the Wermis battlecrusier (https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Captain_Wermis's_battlecruiser) is actually an imperial refit of the Praetor I? With the similar sized Tagge battlecruiser (https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Tagge_battlecruiser) and the smaller Crimson Jack (https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Crimson_Jack's_battlecruiser) as distinct and separate designs, and no one really having any clue as to the Procurator (I see some guesses, but nothing official, semi or otherwise).

Farseer.... this is amazing! It is a huge step, especially given the limited engine that caps performance gains that better machinery should give. This is great stuff. Like, literally, this is the beginning of a whole new quality tier of ground maps, compared to any existing ones.

My imagination just going wild here, but it would be awesome if there was a special "melee" attack ability where the cargo manipulators could grab "smaller" ships *cough*venators*cough* and crush them into balls of steel wool.

So... no hangars or fighter compliment? What about service hangars? Unless those long panels on either side pull back ala Venator (which would be time-period appropriate), though granted, it would seem that the the bottom of the ship is very similar aesthetically to the Tector - almost as if there would a Hangar version of the Preator II ala Imperious to Tector.
