It happened to me as well sadly, it goes a lot of tries(10-12 for me), but don't wander off(I think it's critical) and save often(at least before at the ladder and the stairwell) and it can be doable. I hope it helps!

Well it can be done with good tactic. Build at least 4 corvette for the fighters and bombers and maybe 1 or 2 cruiser and a destroyer for the bigger ships and it almost done.

It's okay if it purple, but when you click on it must have to highlight the other too if it closed. To close the end tag must have a'/' like this:</Text_ID>
no. that should be okay but if you click on the tag like <Text_ID> then it's highlights the other end of the tag in purple. <Text_ID></Text_ID> this is how should be look a closed tag
With notepad ++ you can see the problem it's can be highlight the problem if you double click the tag you can see if it's closed or not.
Don't need to copy everything this is what the variant do, anything under the variant made changes on the new ship.this is why the code too small because the variant do the trick.

Make a new XML with the what you want then put this code into it. then you need the string editor from petrolutiion mod tools (google it) open up the mastertextfile_english.dat add a new string, and when its done use the string name and put yours instead TEXT_TAURI_SPACE_UNIT_BC_304. then go to gameobjetctfiles.xml put your thenameofyourship.xml into anywhere you will see then go to the starbase_Tauri.xml look for skirmish starbases then there will be this line:<Tactical_Buildable_Objects_Multiplayer> put your ship name under it and thats it. have fun. :)
