I you didn't apply any PoP's tweaks, I would start with checking Warband files integrity (if on Steam), then reinstalling PoP. If still not ok, I would reinstall Warband as well.

Sounds like broken savegame. Just try one of your previous ones or backup save created by the game (on C drive, ...\Documents\Mount&Blade; Warband Savegames\Prophesy of Pendor V3.9.5; rename "last_savegame_backup.sav" to e.g. "sg00.sav").

Warband is CPU heavy, so more npcs on the battlefield, more stressed processor is.
On older and weaker machines you will have to reduce battlezise.
On Rysens you can assign Warband only to real cores (not logical ones) and give game high priority in Task Manager.
If you have fancy mouse try to decrease its frequency (some things are updated by game engine when mouse is moved and today's ones may send info too fast for 10 years old engine to handle).

This is well known Native Warband bug. Restart your game session and try again.

To do that you need be in a good relations with the guildmaster (with city to be more precise; relations at least 15).

You could try take a castle, start your own kingdom and sent emissary to Urlic asking for Sarleon protection. If you are accepted Sarleon will add your fiefs to its own and their nobles will have place to spawn.

PoP uses Warband mechanics for romance. One of those mechanics is hidden "romance strength in the world". It is selected once, at the beginning of each game, and determines how hard it is to convince ladies to your plans, to get their favour.
Maybe in your game this variable works against you - there is no "love in the air" and you need to work harder.

This is intended mechanic, please read changelog. There is soldiers level cap on the garrison left behind by player if player requested fief for himself/herself.
It was introduced to remove exploit: lords who help player with siege may leave very strong units as garrison (e.g. 100 Shadow Legion Centurions) which player will have access to for free if given fief is awarded to him/her.
