This is an array of powerful electro-optical jammers that can prevent any missile or rangefinder from getting a clear lock on the tank. In addition a battery of extremely potent flash grenades are simultaneously launched which blind nearby infantry. This combined effect of jamming, confusion and it's terrifying appearance makes it momentarily impossible to attack the Golem.
