Interesting. I never really had a problem with fall damage, probably because I'm a more cautious player when it comes to Doom 3 as apposed to classic Doom. I may look into it.

It's not a big deal. It's just there to prevent other mods from messing with the custom code. If players see this happen, they won't be able move. This is to prevent other mods from screwing up the the custom code and mechanics that will be seen in future maps of Doom Zero, like the new boss and other custom content.

If a mod of your choosing doesn't result in this then it will be fine to use along with Doom Zero. Now of course you could just noclip through or remove these sprites in a map editor but if you're experience enough to do that then you'll probably know that some mechanics will look weird or be broken.

Doom Zero is a mod, it's not just new maps.

Make sure there is a doom2.wad in your main GZDoom folder, place doomzero.wad in the same folder then drag and drop doomzero.wad over GZDoom.exe
Or you can create a shortcut to GZdoom.exe then go into the shortcut's properties and add at the end in the target section: -FILE DoomZero.wad

Golden Edition is a hypothetical alternative version of Doom 3 that we could've gotten back in 2004. It needs to be true to games of that era. But nothing's stopping you from adding an HD mod on top of Golden Edition.

After copying your Doom2.wad and DoomZero.wad into the GZDoom folder. Just drag doomzero onto GZDoom.exe

If that doesn't work then maybe you need to run GZDoom by itself and then select Doom2 as the default wad if the wad selection menu appears. Then repeat the first process.

You're half right. It may seem that the player is shooting the sky but the way it works is that when the gun tilts backwards because of the recoil, the bullet has already left the barrel. The muzzle flash actually happens on the 2nd frame. The first frame is when the bullet leaves the barrel as seen here:
Moddb.com
You can also see the barrel in mid-recoil.

Now I would like for the muzzle flash to start on the first frame and end on the 2nd just like the shotgun but unfortunately that's the way they programed the pistol, and I can only use dehacked (for vanilla compatibility reasons) which doesn't allow me to add it to the first frame. 😐

Reimplementing unused sprites that were originally created by id Software themselves. also readjusted some of the weapons height.

I'm not saying the game will crash or something, but it will ruin the the new Boss's graphics and sounds, remove the new flats textures and replace them with the wrong ones.

So for those that want to use BRUTAL DOOM, just know that it breaks some of the game's custom graphics, textures and sounds. I'm not saying you're not allowed to use Brutal Doom with Doom Zero, just know that Doom Zero is NOT just a mappack, but is a mod in its own right. With that in mind, if you guys choose to use Brutal Doom anyways, I don't want to hear anything about how the game is unbalanced, confusing or there are glitches and visual bugs or what other thing I sapposedly screwed up, because I didn't, Brutal Doom did.

Thanks for the advise. Funny enough, I actually did slightly increase the shotgun's effectiveness for version 1.5. I just need to take the time to test it with the ROE expansion.

There will be a version released in the near future. Just using the current mod will lead to crashing in certain areas of the game.

MXDash - - 216 comments @ POM AF fix

It doesn't work. I'm using the latest version (ver.1.2.1). I unzipped and placed it in the folder called "Game", and then I forced on anisotropic filtering in my Nvidia control panel. The Pom works as usual but the AF doesn't. Is there another step I need to perform? Like, do I need to enable it in the console or something?

Edit:
Ok, so I found the issue, I had to create a text file and call it "system.cfg" and place it in "Crysis\Game\Config\". Then while in the text file it should say:
r_TexMaxAnisotropy=8
r_displayinfo=0

after that, I created a shortcut for the game and added "-devmode" after the target file. Only then did it finally work.

Your question before you edited the comment: "Can I run this with a mod?"

This is a mod. Adding another mod on top of Doom Zero will really screw things up.

A moderately capable modern PC or a Gaming PC from 10 years ago is all you need.
If you also include the "zz_plasma_slowdown_fix.pk4" file in the Golden Edition folder then I'd say any PC from the duel core era (2005+) is adequate. Gaming cards from that era should also be fine.

The slowest machine I had was able to run this at a smooth 60fps.
The specs are:
Core 2 Duo E8200
4GB RAM
GeForce 8800GT 512MB

This isn't just a mappack, it's a mod, some enemies and weapons handle or sound different in order to make it more fun or more distinct from vanilla doom. I plan on contacting id to see if they allow add-on updates. There will also be a wide screen release soon.

That is odd. Well, Key to Freedom was optimized for a PC from 2008 and it does still work in win10 on modern PCs. Maybe a GPU driver issue? Try a different version, I usually install the most recent studio driver instead of the latest general driver. If that doesn't work then there might be a more fundemental issue either in your download/disc of the game, or your OS. Have you tried both versions of key to freedom:
1.3 and 1.26?

Cool man! So that means so far we have Russian, Czech, Italian and now German. Great to see the support to more fans of other cultures.

Yep, it will break not only the boss but also the new monster. But I'm glad you enjoy it so far, however, what's up with "doors-stay-open.pk3"? That is totally gonna ruin many of the puzzles in Doom Zero and will decimate the challenge of the game. I've said it many times and I guess I'm gonna keep saying it till the day I die: I Strongly recommend to not use any mods, period.😓

You want to use the mouse to move forward? That's a first.
OK, just delete novert.com, that program disables the mouse's vertical axis. And then run DoomZero.bat

If you haven't played the whole game by itself then you won't notice anything initially but Brutal Doom does break the game at the fundamental level, particularly with the Boss.

In the future, once I'm certain that there isn't anymore bugs that need ironing out, I'll email them and see if they accept updates or not.
