I'm getting black and purple squares in some parts of the game:
- The toxic waste water pool at the end of the long curved tunnel where you're riding a rail car. Above the pool are large pipes, one of which you have to climb into in order to proceed.
- The terrain in the first Xen level is ALL black and purple squares, as are a couple of more Xen maps later on.

Using Xash3D_build3366_with_extras.zip with no other mods installed on nVidia GTX-570's in SLI mode using latest v372.70 driver.

What a GREAT mod ! ! !

Unfortunately, I don't have a "killer" computer at this moment.

However, I've incorporated a large number of files from various Crysis texture update mods into my current install. Yes, it was a very painstaking process determining which textures were superior. You've stated that you've culled together all the best textures from all the prominent Crysis related texture mods.

I'd like to update my current Crysis install utilizing your supposed best textures. What .pak files, or portions thereof, do I need to use in order to do so?

I'm a longtime huge Crysis fan. I've continually updated my computer components so that I could play Crysis at an appreciable framerate. I intend to update my current graphics cards (GTX-570 x 2 in SLI) to the new nVidia Pascal series, when ALL the choices are finally made available and I can afford it. I expect at that time that I can take full advantage of the massive benefits that your mod offers.

In the interim, I'd like to play Crysis now looking as good as it can be by taking advantage of a portion of what your mod offers that my current computer setup can digest.

There's an error in the file's name - it should be "final" and not "funal".

I've been a longtime follower of the FC Return mod and its vast graphic details and improvements. So sad to hear about your problems with losing some data, but I'm ecstatic that you're continuing on, now with the T9 version.

It looks truly AMAZING !

So happy to see that this mod is finally being released before Doom 4. The mod's goals and looks are very interesting and I hope that it doesn't disappoint your followers. I'll be downloading this on day-one - don't delay on adding any patches/updates, which is usually the downfall of similar mods.

Once again, you haven't stated or educated your followers on which of all the recently released patches are needed? - all of them?, some of them?, the most recent one (301.26mb in size)?

I can tell that you're very excited that all of your HARD work has finally resulted in the release of your mod. Congratulations! However, don't neglect to give high importance on keeping your followers up to date on the details of installing your mod, as a standalone, or its compatibility with other similar mods, and how they can each be installed to work harmoniously with each other.

Regardless, educate your followers on how to properly install your mod, and when patches are released, which ones are necessary to avoid conflicts.

moddb-WORLD - - 76 comments @ EMERGENCY PATCH THAT IS IMPORTANT

First of all, in the HL2 universe, it should be kanalspatch.zip.

Is this fix included in Patch Number 4? You really need to be MORE informative concerning details about your patches. Which ones are needed - all of them or some of them or the latest that's been released.

Your mod is huge in scope and it's for a widely known and beloved franchise. Other competitive and similar mods have been released. To alleviate the frustrations on the part of those that download and install your mod, clearly state which files need to be downloaded and how they should be installed, either as a standalone mod, or as part of complimenting and working in conjunction with another mod(s). The easier you make it to install your mod, the greater acceptance and downloads it will receive.

REALLY?

Do yourself and your downloaders a favor - the most recent patch should include all the previous patches. Less files to keep track of and to download, and easier to install and update your mod.

moddb-WORLD - - 76 comments @ Announcing Doom 3: Redux

This sounds so F#C@IN& AMAZING ! ! ! and is long overdue. You're so right that many persons add other mods into their own without thoroughly checking if incompatibility issues arise as a result, which can seriously destroy the games immersion factor. Here are a few questions concerning your mod:

1. Are there any fixes/improvements to the game's engine to improve FPSecond?
2. What exactly are you changing to improve the game's sounds?
3. Concerning textures, you state "At the end, the mod looks noticeably better as it is devoid of visual glitches, but it should also run better thanks to the fact that a lot of these textures have seen their size reduced." Doesn't doing this actually degrade the visual quality of the textures?
3a. Roughly, how many and which category of textures are being reduced in size?
3b. By how much are the textures being reduced in size?
4. Will your mod also include the stellar Phrozo graphics/particles mod v2.0? If not, I strongly suggest that you consider including it.
5. Will your mod fix current rendering issues for 3D-type POM and parallax textures?
6. Will your mod also work with the Doom 3 Ressurection of Evil expansion pack? If not, do you intend to make it so, in the future?

I was about to play a maxed-out-modded version of Doom 3, but I'm going to wait until you release your mod, since it appears, on the surface, that it should potentially provide the best overall experience currently available.

If you're not aware, you should also monitor this fairly new but expansive mod for the more updated recent retail release of the Doom 3 BFG Edition Moddb.com, which includes some of the same basic goals as what you're attempting to do with the original Doom 3, plus some other improvements that you may want to incorporate into your mod. The author has confirmed that his texture improvements can be added to the original Doom 3 and the Doom 3 RoE expansion without any issues.

Your task is far from easy and I expect that very many Doom 3 fans are excited to see what you're trying to accomplish. Just don't loose sight that your mod is VERY important in that someone has stepped forward and has finally acknowledged and is prepared to address the many issues which have occurred when multiple, and usually large and detailed/complicated mods, are culled together.

Stay the course and be thorough and vigilant.

To avoid possible confusion going forward, consider including the mod's version number within the file's name, so that it appears like this - crysis_aks74_v1.4_13.rar.

Just a suggestion.

You've released many "Final" versions of your mod, but the name of the file never changes ? ? ? - Insidious_Doom_v1.0_Final.zip, Insidious_Doom_v1.1_Final.zip, Insidious_Doom_v1.2_Final.zip, etc.

Also, I suggest adding a '3' to the file's name (Insidious_Doom3.zip) so that it's not confused as being a mod for the original 'Doom' game.
