I didn't give him permission, I've sent him a message asking to remove all the D-day graphics and code that he has taken.
If he doesn't comply I'll be contacting ModBD to help resolve the issue.
A new version of D-day is coming but it will still take some time.
If I ever make a single player campaign there will be a German mission to take Fort Eben-Emael which will include Belgium units. I dont have plans for any playable Belgium missions tho.
There is already a map editor available called Final Alert 2. It doesn't fully work with D-day tho, you'll also need to manually edit the map files in a text editor to get them to work in D-day too. So it's not recommended to use with D-day unless you are already experienced with making maps for normal Red Alert 2 & know what you are doing.
I plan to add them in the future, there are lots of other units that have priority tho.
Because it is still in development there is a small chance that it may crash or freeze up.
Preview of the new supply Depot: Dday.migeater.net
Zombie Miggy is here...
Naval units arn't available in the current release, they will be usable in the next release tho.
I dont know where you got that impression, the Italian buildings have already been done for quite some time. See them here: Dday.migeater.net
They were made in Photoshop by hand as 2D images, I do plan to remake them in 3D & change their design a bit in the future tho.
I concede that the Supply Depot should be changed to look less like the Factory, I'll work on that in the next few days & post an update.
As pointed out in the news post these are just temporary placeholders, as such I didn't want to spend a lot of time working on them as they will be replaced with better designs in the future. Because they will be used by several different sides they needed to be plain & generic looking too.
If you want to see what the building in D-day will look like when I put some time & effort into them go look at the Japanese ones.
The pile of crates spawning supplies will be/has changed (there are several variants & I haven't finished them all yet) to an animated elevator that brings supply boxes up from an underground bunker.
I've thought about it but It would need a very complex system with multiple upgrades. I plan to do some tests in the future.
East Germany like all the Warsaw Pact countries used standard Soviet equipment. So they wouldn't be any difference between a East Germany sub-faction & the current Post-War Soviet side.
Italy might get an alternative Post-War sub-faction in the future, research is still on going tho and I might not be able to find enough to equipment to make a new sub-faction feasible.
Unfortunately its not possible to add or disable sides for specific time-frames, so adding it as an in-game option was the only choice.
The Graf Zeppelin carrier was in older versions of D-day but was removed because the graphics needed to be redone. Naval units are lower priority tho (and not even playable atm) so I haven't made a new version yet.
The Hindenburg airship was also in an older version as a map decoration but I was never used so it was removed.
The X class is the only is the only German military airship I'd consider adding as a buildable unit, any others are too old or where used as civilian transports (like the Hindenburg).
I will only add fictional designs as buildable units in specific circumstances, such as it being made for war time propaganda or a famous April fools joke etc. Any designs from modern games or films will only be add as bonus easter eggs, like the Girls Und Panzer units.
Installation instructions can be found in the Readme file.
While Otto is arguably the more accomplished tank ace, Michael is a lot more well known.
I have made Michael Wittmann's Tiger 205 as a hero unit, I nearly posted it along with these Tigers but I decided to save it for a post just about hero units.
The only place it is called that is in World of Tanks, I'm unsure why they used that name. As I said it received no official name so it's a subjective mater, in the end I chose to use something fitting the Japanese nomenclature tho.
The Japanese Tiger never received an official "Type" designation, but it was planed that it would arrive & enter service in Japan at the end of 1944, thus the Type 4.
I should also point out the the Czech Tiger didn't receive a official name either, I came up with T-41/75N in accordance with the nomenclature of that period tho.
That was one of the main sources for info for this tank.
The GuP units use 2D sprites instead of the usual 3D voxels, while they do look better they have less functionality. So I wont be redoing any other units.
The countries currently in D-day & in development are:
Everything except for the V3 is already in D-day.
The Schwerer Gustav is just a map decoration, the Silbervogel & Sonnengewehr "Sun Cannon" where disabled for balance reasons tho.
An update: Train locomotives will now produce a continuousness smoke stream instead of rhythmical puffs.
Yes, choosing between Imperial Japan & JSDF is done the same way as the US Army & Marines sub-factions.
I have such maps in development but they take a lot longer to make. Historical city maps are the most time consuming, requiring months of research & many more months making the graphics for famous buildings etc.
Several other fans from the Philippines requested a map of Corregidor & I was happy to oblige :)
