Thats brilliant, all this time and I only just read this comment, I should post some of my nightmare starts, normally I would just start again but once and a while I'll just go with the flow.

Try a directoy path using 8.3 structure as in each file or directory only having eight letters with a optional three letter suffix eg d:\games\FS2
this might work...
