Hi, could you explain this a little more? Where can I find another preference cfg that might work and do I use it to replace the medieval2.preference file?

I tried removing the crusades dlc and renaming the elderscrolls mod to crusades but unfortunately I am getting the same error of the unexpected problem

Well guys I did a fresh install of everything,
-I redownloaded Medieval total war 2
-I redownloaded the mod and installed that into the mods folder
-I installed the 4GB patch
-I made sure I had my kingdoms.exe, my medieval2.exe, my medieval2.preference.cfg, and my kingdoms.preference.cfg all in my main total war medieval 2 folder.
-I made sure both preference cfg's were unchecked as read_only
-I tried launching the game through the Mod Launcher, it gave me "Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit"
-I tried removing the sound files that you suggested, no luck there
-I tried launching it through The_Elder_Scrolls.bat with no luck either.

At this point I am at a loss on what to do, I know you guys are working on it but so far nothing is working and it is odd to see that a few players are able to get into the game but others not. I am using the latest version of the steam version for Medieval total war 2 and I have played this mod before with it working in the 1.6 version. Any other suggestions or help would be much appreciated.

UPDATE: I have got it working now, a user by the name of Ciango posted it in the 4gb patch comments and it seemed to work for me so i'll repost it here.

"Guys I believe I found out what the problem is with the unspecified error on steam.

1. Copy "medieval2" somewhere and rename it "kingdoms" and place it back in the main folder(so you should have both medieval2 and kingdoms in the same folder)

2.Get the 4gb patch and apply it to BOTH exes

3. Delete events.dat and events.idx in The_Elder_Scrolls\data\sounds(Copied from their post) although idk if this is needed, I already did it.

This worked for me so I hope it helps."

I already have both a medieval2.exe and a kingdoms.exe, and steam won't launch the game without a medieval2.exe

Damn dude, I love your artstyle, all the units look so nice and you did an amazing job on all the structures! I have to ask though, if I remember correctly previous versions of the mod had jacen and jaina solo, will you be incorporating them along with the campaign?

Hey guys! Great work on the mod, I played this a while back and really enjoyed it, but i could have sworn the Knights of the Nine were a unit in the mod, now I can't seem to find them when i do a custom match, so I am wondering, did you guys take them out, or am I just crazy?
