Awesome, congratulations! :-)
Awesome, congratulations! :-)
That screenshot has a really great athmosphere!
Mh, that is weird. Did you make sure that the folder paths are correct? Also, do you use the Steam or DVD version? The origin version is not supported.
Hi KodoL! yes, I developed the mod mostly myself, allthough I had quite much support from many people in various areas (like coding, modeling, etc). You can have a look in the Release Notes PDF in the download if you're interested in details.
Wreckage (and its predecessors) is a really awesome, quite innovative and well-polished mod, which was a great inspiration in certain ways and fun to play. But I don't think I've played Operation Salvage, to be honest, so I can't say anything about that.
I know that the ending is a bit "controversial" amongst many people, but somehow I had a very clear idea of how it should look very early on in the development - the dramatic climax of the mod. Concerning the VTOL, there is no definite meaning - but I think the chances are good that Nomad might survive :)
Yes it also uses linking, but I guess it's processed at a "deeper" level (higher update rate) to allow for smoother camera updates than possible with "normal" links. Back then, I was also talking with Flowgroover (who did the C++ coding for NC) to move some of the systems to Lua or C++ to achieve more speed, but in the end, we didn't go through that effort as the F35 mission was more of a playground and not actually part of the mod.
I know the flyable aircraft videos, and they're really awesome and polished, and in large parts what I wanted to achieve. But unfortunately, I'm not doing any Crysis modding anymore, and especially did not continue to work on the aircraft system, so I'm probably not going to contact cwright.
However, if you are interested to work on this yourself, I can dig up the aircraft system and give it to you, you would be free to do with it whatever you want. And thanks for your interest! :)
Sorry, I don't have it on my computer anymore. Maybe I can dig it up some time.
Yes, I tried linking the camera to the jet as well, but this didn't work satisfactory neither. It may have been possible to use some kind of workaround using the vehicle system (since it obviously works e.g. for the VTOL), but I guess it would have been very complicated to implement the functionality I wanted with that, so I didn't pursue this any further.
It's 'semi open world' for a large part - meaning that you have given objectives, but the area you can explore is mostly quite big and often, you can e.g. choose which objectives to complete first.
Sorry, this is an unusual bug. But I assume you were you able to resolve your last problem?
Maybe have a look at your system memory usage, or try to run this part on low settings. Apart from that, I don't have many suggestions. If everything fails, you could just skip the rest of the level and directly load the last map over console ('map cataclysm').
Are you playing on low settings? Because if you do, the breakable objects do not work, which is indeed an oversight by me. Try switching to medium or high settings temporarily and switch back once you have cleared the boards. If you still have problems, you could start the game in devmode (use -devmode in your crysis shortcut or steam launch options) and use F3 to fly through the planks. Then save and restart the game normally. Hope it helps!
No, I'm afraid there won't be any sequels. NC was kind of a one-time project.
This sounds like you installed the mod into the wrong path. With steam, you can run Crysis only in 32-Bit. Make sure you extract the downloaded folder into your Crysis/Mods folder (it probably looks like "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Crysis\Mods"). Then you should find a file called "NuclearCataclysm_32Bit.bat" in "\Steam\steamapps\common\Crysis\Mods\NuclearCataclysm". Run it and it should work!
If you still have problems, make sure your Crysis installation works correctly and that you can start the vanilla game. Check if your Crysis.exe is in "\Steam\steamapps\common\Crysis\Bin32". Hope it works!
Hi, just navigate to your Crysis installation folder and go to Mods/NuclearCataclysm. Then start "NuclearCataclysm_64Bit.bat" (or 32Bit on Steam/32 Bit systems) to launch the mod.
I hope it works, enjoy your replay!
Looks awesome, can't wait for the release!
Thanks man, you too! :) Sorry, I'm even more late :D
That's very interesting. Thanks for posting your solution! Glad it's working now. :)
Awesome, thank you very much for the award. It's really great to see Nuclear Cataclysm there!
Also, congratulations to all the other awarded mods! :)
Send me a message and we can talk! :)
Thanks for the info, I understand the problem. But I never had this bug and I don't really know how it's possible, sorry. Is there a yellow ball instead or do you had any other missing objects? My only thought is to reinstall the game in case you have corrupt files.
If this doesn't help, you can just enable Devmode and fly through the backdoor of the big warehouse (you can look in a youtube playthrough if you don't find it), that way you can just skip the part. Sorry you have that bug :(
Thank you, and I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems. You're talking about the third map, right? Did you already go inside the factory and into the little gate house? Also, it would be good to know which Crysis version (steam, retail...) you are using.
I'm writing a little article right now that explains all the pictures. Stay tuned! :)
Just take a look into the instructions:
Start either the "NC Editor 32bit.bat" or the "NC Editor 64bit.bat" in the Mod folder (Crysis/Mods/NuclearCataclysm) to run the Editor with the mod loaded. Then Load any map from the mod by opening the map's .cry file.
Hope that helps!
Great update, love all your detailed explanations and gifs. Looking forward to the release! :)
This is indeed a very nice concept, but I didn't really implement it in the mod (there are a few smaller things connected to the difficulty level, I think). A reason that crytek didn't use it could be that the AI count affects the performance quite heavily, so you would need a better system for the higher difficulty levels (at least using 2007 hardware). But that shouldn't be a problem nowadays :p
Sorry, you definitely need Crysis 1 for it. If you want to get it, I'd recommend to look on steam, maybe you can catch it in the sale for a few bucks :)
Even better: Buy the game. It's worth it, doesn't cost much, no problems :p
Not really, sorry - it should work fine on Windows 10. You could check again if the Mod is installed correctly and the Game is patched to 1.2 or 1.21. You could also try compatibility mode (Win XP or Win 7), maybe that helps.
Let me know if you have any other problems! :)
Awesome screens! :) I almost wouldn't have recognized the map...
