Russian Kolobok SPG image - M.P

Little is known about the vehicle that military intelligence services have catalogued as the "Kolobok", based on fragmented information extracted from General Aleksandr's secretive research and development complex. All that is confirmed is that a self-propelled artillery system of a hitherto unseen type made sporadic appearances in the eastern African conflict region in the early 2040s. The vehicle, whose chassis is assumed to be derived from early models of the only slightly less enigmatic Golem tank, is equipped with a most unusual turret, much of which is occupied by an exotic high-energy generator, codenamed the "Iron Curtain" in Russian documentation. This generator is linked to a cannon that accelerates clusters of charged particles at high velocity, impacting targets rapidly across long distances to devastating effect. Following the explosive diffusion of these energy clusters on impact, a residual energy remains in the affected area for an extended time. Physical contact with this energy is instantly deadly to biological life and dissolves inanimate matter, such as metal. Extracted combat reports detail a handful of uses of the Kolobok against Chinese and GLA forces, and make particular mention of the fact that the energy projectiles travel unusually quickly, making them distinctly effective against fast-moving targets that might otherwise evade the fire of a conventional howitzer. This concludes the extent of reliable information as of 2045.
