The Sokol howitzer - commonly dubbed Falcon by European multinational forces - traces its origins to the DANA, the world's first wheeled 152mm artillery designed in the mid-1970s in what was then still the Socialist Republic of Czechoslovakia. Following the velvet divorce of the two countries after the fall of the Iron Curtain, both Czechia and Slovakia developed their own upgrades which included compatibility with NATO standard 155mm ammunition. When Slovakia became an ECA membership candidate in 2043, work began on the Falcon, which was once again developed as a joint project by the two countries. Combining a new Slovak-made cannon with the latest Czech Tatra 8x8 chassis, the result was a highly mobile artillery that can provide rapid response fire support from an unprepared position. For sustained fire at longer distances, the Sokol can deploy its supports, which also include additional protective elements that increase its level of protection.

The Falcon Artillery is a new addition to the European arsenal in the community patch "Hanpatch" for the mod "Rise of the Reds".
