Sorry about the crash! If you don't select a controller for either the home or away team, then trying to start the game will trigger a crash. So just make sure you choose either the home or away team. That is my fault for letting that bug slip through, but I guess thats the purpose of a beta! :D

Passing is definitely high risk / reward. The AI will actively try to intercept passes, but a successful pass gains you a lot of ground and forces the goalie to re-position, so a fast pass / shoot combo is much more likely to score a goal. However, passing comes with the risk of losing control of the puck or just straight up giving it to the enemy. I don't think I will make the AI intentionally pass to the wrong person, but there is still a chance of a bad pass, e.g. passing to some one who isn't open, or is a high risk pass.

You are right, I can make the CPU have insane reaction times and make the most complicated, unreasonable plays XD However, I am programming in realistic, human, reaction times and the ability to make errors. I will also have a few levels of difficulty so players can select one that fits their skill level. At this point, I am trying to make the AI only make plays that are within my personal abilities, since I have played the game quite a bit now I have developed some skill. This should serve as a baseline for normal difficulty, a bit tuned down AI will be easy and a bit tuned up will be hard.

There is a button/key to perform a check. This video doesn't show it, but very recently I made it so players can sometimes absorb a few hits before being knocked over.

In order for the puck to knock over a player it has to be traveling above a certain speed, basicaly 80% of its max speed or higher and the puck will pulverize players.

Yup definitely. Eventually the goalie will defend goalie's crease, and knock back players who get too close too, to prevent too much crowding around it and players shooting from absolute point blank range.

No, and I think I might keep it this way. I understand in real hockey the goalie can catch the puck, and then pass it or hold onto it to reset and force another faceoff. However, this, to me, breaks up the action and slows things down. Having constant ricochets makes the pace quite a bit more intense.

Thanks! I also prefer the Left-Right layout. The goals are more skill based than many hockey games. Most hockey games you press the shoot button and then a random number generator decides whether the goalie blocks it or not. The goal system in this game is more like pong, you have to shoot around the goalie and the goalie has to block it like a pong paddle.

It will still be fundamentally a hockey game, as in the most goals will win the game. However, violence is encouraged en route to achieving this goal :D

Fun game! Definitely has lots of potential. I enjoy the style of the graphics and the sound effects. It took me a minute or two to figure out I had to hit the boxes onto the squares (on world 1 level 1) to get the elevator going [ Perhaps make level 1 a tutorial level for slow people like myself! :D ], but once I got the hang of it I was able to figure the rest out and make some progress. For instance you can just give clues without giving it away (it is a puzzle game after all) like putting arrows over certain elements to guide you on the first level. I liked the part when I was messing around with the gravity gun and all the boxes flew out the window, hehe. Then I jumped out too... Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the compliment! The demo is quite dated now, and the current version is (in my opinion) leaps and bounds ahead of where it was :D I don't want to make any promises I can't keep, but the game should be out early this summer.

I believe I've solved the very issue you are referring to, granted the demo is quite dated now, but the zombies no longer spawn in massive groups, rather they "trickle in", so now you can blast through crowds without the crowd immediately reappearing to devour you! Thanks for the feedback! If you find anything else that is anti-fun definitely feel free to tell me :D

Thank you for the feedback! :D I am working to balance the item drop rates, and I have already added First Aid kits for the player (They are actually in there I just forgot to enable them in the demo XD).
