Interesting bit of trivia, a Baltic tribe called the East Galindians lived in that area until they were absorbed later in the 7th century.

Just checked a different mod (on a different game) that was released within the last 20 hours. It is also having the same issue.
It may be an issue on ModDB or server end. I get the same problem but I've double-verified that I did the correct upload procedure.
Good suggestion. Artemis' temple and the Hanging Gardens were both destroyed by this time. The Colossus though was still laying there since its destruction in 226BC.
The mod has been updated to hotfix v3.1.1, fixing minor bugs with trait localisation and Caliphal Elective succession. Please download again to get the latest version.
Haven't tested it, so I don't know for sure. I'd say that it almost certainly does NOT work with Ancient Religions, but it probably does work with Better Garbs.
Nope. He already died by game start.
It's a feature, not a bug ;-)
Abu Bakr was not Hashimid but actually Banu Taym. He was related to Muhammad only by marriage, through his daughter, one of Muhammad's wives.
No DLC required. Of course some features won't be unlocked, just as in the base game. It hasn't been tested with every combination of DLC though, so please let me know of bugs.

Hey guys, I know I've been quiet for a while. Work got crazy with commissioning a new plant and all.
I also got bummed out that a lot of my changes got put into the main game. I even worked out a way to have fully moddable succession using minor titles, events, decisions, and repurposing/hijacking the long_character_event (which isn't used much). Of course it's now obsolete as moddable succession is incorporated into the base game (which is great!).
But I've been working on it again for about about a month now. Making excellent progress.
With luck, I may be able to release in another month or two.

Thanks for your continued support of the mod, M.F. Aquila!
I've changed the file to Hotfix 2.0.1, fixing this invasion issue and starting techs for Persia and Syria.
Check out the files for the latest version (for CK2 2.8.x)
Sorry about that. I've fixed and updated the download. Or if you have a previous .mod file it should work.
Thanks, fixed

To have true de jure kingdoms and empires in this area is ahistorical; the concepts of Bohemia, Poland, Russia, etc did not exist even aspirationally, let alone Wendish and Russian Empires. Unfortunately, CK2 does not allow an area to have no de jure kingdom and empire; it causes strange behaviour if the game is saved and reloaded. So I had to create dummy kingdoms and empires as placeholders, regrettably.
I could see going to a form of feudal elective for Caliphate game start; the problem is the Muslim realm will split up very early with elective since the different kingdoms will elect different rulers.
I did consider all three forms of elective that CK2 allows, but there are problems with the mechanics of all of them. They don't really fit. I know Turkish doesn't either, but unfortunately CK2 does not allow succession modding.
