You need to run a mod like the mod included with the files before launching the map or any other mod that has a patched _teams.gsc file should work as well. I can't think of any other possible cause of the problem.

I've tried looking it up and that's the closest to the probable cause that I can find. I have tested this map and the mod packaged with it on several machines from fresh installs as well as briefly putting it up on a server and never coming across this error.

Do you have any peculiar settings or a more complex mod? I haven't tested this map with any other mods than what's included and a basic customMaps mod with only a new _teams.gsc file in it.

None that I know of, but you might be interested in Warzone 2100. It's an open source RTS game with some very interesting gameplay features, like a research tree. It has a fairly up-to-date editor, compared to its predecessor. You can find it at wz2100.net
