Hey, a recent game dev grad here.

While I can see a lot of enthusiasm for the mod to go on based on the sheer amount of ideas on paper, I can already tell you that by the time you get to tackling this "full-time" (aka. full spare time if you choose the life of a programmer :)) you'll look at this list and smile.
Also, 3 years is like infinity in solo development time.

I do wish you luck and hope you'll have the patience and determination to make this an awesome title, message me if you need help, I'd be happy to contribute something.
I used to love this mod.

You do realize he's adding modern technology to 2003 Engine? There's more to game's looks than reflections. C&C 3 looks much better.

That's my main problem with Generals 2-based content. It's not Generals. Original game had much more 'free' design, often without taking too much real life into account like overlord or marauder 2nd salvage upgrade. It looked cool and worked well. Not 1 unit in Gen2 is similar to any of the original.

You can make infantry smaller simply by changing scale in each of the ini files at the end of each object code, should be a quick and easy to implement.

Well, here's my view on this, since I started exactly the same way as you did.
Go on Autodesk Student Community, register, get yourself a copy of 3DS Max, get few low-poly modelling tutorials from the net (Youtube, tutorialized) and learn a little how to quickly and efficiently model tanks.

I can see it's a Jpanther, so keep up the work, and use google images to add detail.
BTW you can remove the 2 loops of edges in the middle (top left viewport) of the hull, they only increase polycount

If youre going for visual reality, make sure you (well its gonna make a mess in textures folder, I know) make UI HD-orientated, and make sure you double the sizes of commandbuttons (124x100) and portrait images '_L' (240x192).
And the only way to make sure it works correctly that I know is to save each as separate file.

Well, it might look epic in such zoom, but lets face it, mods often increase camera distance and LOD steps in, besides, whats the ETA of final version? coz you'd have to remake at least over 5000 W3Ds to bring whole game to that standard.

Tell me one mod that has something like this in it - that's originality
I am integrating all basic tech buildings into one - hence the use of original zh models
I have a right to discuss whatever I want, its called freedom of speech,
The point is that its the nth time some1 is spotting a fact that he takes ideas from SWR mods, or even from my mod which I canceled ( Moddb.com )
It even has the same as mine used to have

Base of the new economics in ZH, a 4-stage compound/dock replacement providing essentials and vital bonuses to the owner, also capable of producing radar trucks, which can hold 1 faction-specific specialist unit that provide additional bonuses.
As you might have noticed I'm in the middle of changing the UI to HD stanard as well.
I have been modding ZH for over 2 years, just coz I don't post stuff it doesn't mean I don't know what I'm saying

Since the texture is now higher detail, why not try adding weld marks around the edges instead of bolts?

Fix the Smoothing Groups on the front of the plane, also, to shave off polys, you can change the propellers to simple square planes with alpha-based textures, you won't see the difference in game believe me. Other than that, modelling quality looks pretty damn good.
