you know the fellas at Freedoom are rather short of quality, "no owner content" assets .. if you donated em a basic rack of the vanilla Doom guns .. pistol, shotgun etc etc .. no frills just the vanilla actions .. since yours are well above average fidelity .. youd be remembered for a 1000 years :)
I believe the vanilla Pistol is supposedly a beretta, but your green full auto pistol (no idea what that is sorry) is much more sexier and more "space marine" :)

when I load a save all my settlements have incredibly low public order and are rioting .. they are all about -100 ish

I love everything about your Enhanced Vanilla RTW :) its similar to a home mod I made for myself .. but its much better :) Its my FAVE rtw mod so far please keep tinkering ..

one tweak you might consider?
all peasants in the universe can use slings that do 1 point of damage. Dont change anything else about em! reflects the common skill of the times and seems to match xenophons account .. anyone can make a sling for pretty much nothing but unprofessional slingers use fist sized rocks, cant afford/no access to lead ammo .. xenophon considers this a bit of a joke, says they have poor range compared to lead .. but its an omnipresent behaviour from peasants in battle by his account

if macedon MUST have a coat of arms, which classical greeks did not really have, Id suggest a lion or lion face .. much macedonoan war gear seems to feature such .. like alexanders helmet, i guess meant to simulate the bullet-proof lionskin herakles usually wears

after the peloponnesian war, sparta should be pretty well in charge of greece, having ruthlessly stamped out the forces of democracy .. that would be why sparta is the only greek faction in vanilla. Probably that faction should be called "Spartan Hegemony" rather than greek cities, which implies some delian league like setup still exists in greece. but Athens being a rebel city implies the spartans have not conquered it yet! so its the typical ahistorical TW setup :)
However, no real wrong answers in a game that was already pretty wrong to start with :) go for it mate, build whatever makes a fun game
except OMG did some early dev mix up the colours and badges of macedon and sparta or what?? they CLEARLY are meant for the other one each - sparta's "L", (the delta lookin thing ) for Laconia, and the grim fascist style colours .. and macedons lightning bolt (possibly for zeus? but classical "lightning bolts" looked more like a yarn spindle or scroll core, like a roman eagle often holds, or the squared, arrow-headed zig-zag one you see on some roman shields) and light optimistic colours .. my own home game Ive definitely swapped them

this is generally very good, really good, but the pump shotgun sounds woefully quiet and weak compared to the other guns .. any easy fixes or suggestions? I realise separate sound options per weapon is basically a stupid idea :)

PS got any cool links to "how to make weapons" type tutorials? Im an old game dev (I remember when Doom was the hot new kid on the block lol) who has just started to consider a big Doom mod might be just the collosal time-eating waste of a life Im lookin fer .. currently mucking about in GZDM to see what a game looks like after 25+ years of indie dev .. (pretty sexy, even rivalling Unity for a simple FPS maker maybe)

Duke It Out should maybe have its own wads anyhoo, because Jump .. maybe Jetpak .. maybe a ton of those custom monsters from various modding sites .. maybe some traditional Duke monster conversions .. maybe those "Ack-ack-ACK-ack" Martians from Mars Attacks (a perfect Duke prey probably)

this one is from 2016 tho, and your edge is from 2011 .. maybe try looking for a more recent edge if it doesnt work .. one from early 2016 would be ideal (IF it works on win 7)

weird ! you extracted everything into the doom folder? running everything from an EDGE shortcut? well I dunno what to tell ya .. delete everything and start again maybe, try to eliminate potential errors?

are you naming the wads exactly in the EDGE shortcut target extension? leaving 1 space between them? if in doubt, cut/paste the names

When I start the game, from the Duke style interface, I can pick from 4 doom 1 wads or doom 2

EDIT : ahah, only an issue playing Doom 1 Wad, any Doom 2 is ok

well the way I got it to work was make a shortcut, and in the target line add

-FILE DUKEOUT.epk -iwad doom2.wad -file Doom.WAD

after the quotation marks, so in my case, the whole thing looks like this

"C:\GOG Games\Final DOOM\EDGE.exe" -FILE DUKEOUT.epk -iwad doom2.wad -file Doom.WAD

everything neccesary was DL for free here and there on the web (described above) .. total install size 281 MEG for me, and Ive grabbed a few extra wads .. im still experimenting with the config file to get it "just right" for my taste

Maybe also dual pistols (hells bells if Duke can do dual railguns ..) twin pistols would be pretty badass :)

ok ! i seem to have got it working (after MUCH experiments), with the free copy final doom from gog, plus original doom 1 and 2 wads, and latest version edge :)

While I do reckon this thing to be suddenly my new fave shooter, Id make one TINY suggestion - leave in the chainsaw. I think the only reason Duke didnt have one is because Doom, but that really isnt a consideration with this mod. Yeah, its traditionally not a Duke weapon, but .. if you asked The King if hed like one, whaddaya reckon hed say? Groovy, ofc :)
