Wanted to say that this a very great mod! It's so rare to see a work advancing to this stage with complete factions and you've managed to build and recreate lots of stuff!
A little things that could be fixed it's the "choosing the side" crashing.
I've actually found that with vanilla game, AoR (2.2 v8.0.1) and your mod (2.2 v8.3.0) this happens now: your game AND even the vanilla crash in any situation EXCEPT having placed as first-player "Random" on AoR.
Weirdly, when i started the Vanilla and there i attempted to switch ROTWK on Men of the West.... the game crash!
So basically i can freely play AoR all factions, and i am somewhat stucked at keeping "Random" on your mod: when i try to click Dominion or Empire it's crash.
Not sure exactly how to fix. Maybe depends on which patch i play the vanilla?
I admit that i was unaware of their presence in game and when i made a match vs pc in northern map i was suddenly amazed/surprised to see this giant roaming near the icy shore. Extremely well amazed/surprised, especially since it reminded some older LOTR-derivated similar fantasy setting that introduced the Mammouth or Mammouth-like creatures.
Very well done!
Question! Not sure how you are interested/will follow the new Rings of Power series, but one of the details surfaced it's an interesting design for Snow Trolls. You've wondered about implementing their design?
Another unique and very cool element of your mod!
I try to have him for the final assault at each game vs pc. It's simply fascinating... an ancient Maia spirit enslaved by Sauron? Or maybe an older creation of Morgoth or maybe one last survivor of one of the ancient species mentioned as first creations and then destroyed in the First Age wars with his sole exception until the Necromancer's forces took it.
Absolutely wonderful how you managed to insert the Entwives, with also a stunning great design and a sad backstory that fully integrate with the faction
Pretty much awesome to find this element of asiatic/chinese theme in this way! Somewhat i find that was done so explicitely only for the expansion of Shadow of Mordor, with an Easterling ruler strongly resambling a chinese emperor (that was also a nice touch in my opinion )
Can't wait to play them! I was intrigued by the Wainriders' campaigns against Gondor ever since reading the appendix
While i was fine with Azog in the movie, i honestly love and prefer how you differed and made this stunning version of Bolg.
One minor thing that bugged me it's that.... their weaponry doesn't really match the one in the movie Xd In the movie Bilbo pick the curved thin knife from William (the one on the left of your picture) while you gave his "knife" to Tom (who in the movie actually pick another more blunt type of knife) Youtube.com
To be honest i want to give some extra supporting words.
The character's appearence and backstory in a way related to some concept of orcs having a somewhat more advanced civilization that we believe for example in few hints of the Hobbit movies (with its bad and good things). In the movies we saw the orcs having a bounty-system, as well we can see some kind of message-delivery between the different orcish kings and chieftains (when the Goblin King sent word to Azog in the movie of capturing the dwarves).
So i find an orc fitting the role for the mercenary bounty-killer using some more advanced contraption as the wooden leg fitting.
I've not actually played the campaign of your mod. But i am honestly interested and curious to see the eventual fate/demise (and who know... possible survival for few of them?) of these new faction's heroes.
Absolutely love the concept ideas behind these units and their hero Caran-Lambar. You've found a very cool way to portray the "white-eyed" black characters respecting the basic Tolkenian lore (thus making them specific of very exotic location) and still making them originally a benign civilization that fell to corruption after being forcefully twisted by a superior evil power. It also adds a bitter/sad element for their lost and likely forgotten (by Gondorians) cause.
Really good job here.
It's a very cool addition in my opinion. I can see some kind of reminiscences from certain middle-east/crusade movies (and somewhat also in 300?) of a large-sized masked jailer/guard yet with an unprotected body as for meaning that pain or injuries aren't that important to them
Same problem from me. And no other mod enabled
no news from main modder.
If someone would ever want to try and work on it, could just contact him.
One of the key points for this option it's that MoE were not STRICTLY a faction subjected to Sauron like the orcs of Mordor. They had a long history of wars with Gondor and Rohan for their own personal purposes, during the war they marched and fought as an indipendent force (in the main battles they're described to keep fighting even after orcs were routed, and they were granted surrender from Gondor). Finally they were politically dealed as a different "faction" from Mordor especially for the aftermath of the conflict.
Well... yes, but just try to compare it with the beta2 ^^
The creation of the whole beta3 has been a big effort for the modder
Hello! There will be some updates?
Hello! How it's going on? x3 Your mod is nice, keep on working if you've time for it ^ì
In October 2014 the only modder was busy to keep on.
Still I think it's enjoyable enough for fans to play at it (the main issue it's still the rider-dragon bug)
Hello, I've experienced a pair of crash of the game... usually with games already started and not at the beginning.
There is surely some kind of issue into the installation or in the data you've downloaded: the only crashing issue recorded is probably some unresolved issue related to some specific maps.
You've kept installed Edain Mod while you tried to install and run BattleforA.?
You should try to play after having removed the Edain.
If you already did it, you should.
1) remove everything of battle for alagaesia (including dowloaded folder and checking if there is some left INTO the folder of the game)
2) try to see if vanilla game go fine
3) check to have uninstalled the Edain (after all it's easy to re-install ita)
4) re-download the battle of alagaesia
5) keep care to personally extract the folder into some place you can easily remember (maybe the desktop)
6) keep care to write correctly all the paths for running the mod, according this description (see the comment) Moddb.com
You've placed the folder into the old game one? (i suggest to place it in some other place to not make confusion).
The vanilla game works correctly or it crash too?
This crash-at-start it's a never seen before kind of crashing for this mod.
Jut perfect! He's easy to recognize among all the others in the movie, and his portrayal was perfect for the Mod! (i expected this choice and welcome it x3)
I greatly welcome this decision as a fan and as being reasonable.
Personally i think it's better this than waiting for a full one, also because will keep fans to stick more news and follow the whole events&news; reguarding the mod.
They've already shoed the Erebor armour design as implemented:

I've to say that i would have liked to see in the movie the Iron Hills to have some kind of different design i mean, something of more easy to recognize: but maybe something of their shields and spear formation could be used in future.
