Rockstar broke downforce with update 1.40. Downforce is an important part of this mod. Until Rockstar fixes their sh1t i recommend using this mod with game version 1.39 only.

In OpenIV go to Tools/AsiManager and activate "openiv.asi"
I will be releasing a new version of this mod in 10 minutes, maybe you should hold your installation and catch the latest version ;)

whats up with the download counter? right after release of the file it said: "7 (7 today)". Two hours later it said "3 (3 today)". Now it says "5 (1 today)". now what is it? Is the counter counting backwards? This brings back old memories from Youtube. those good old times when the youtube counter counted backwards from 2500 to 224, leaving you with 320 Likes and 224 views...

Version 2.0 is 99.5% finished. 80% of documentation is finished and the installer is prepared. Only a few days left until release.

Compared to release 1.1, Version 2.0 features 189 new car (and bike) handlings (created from scratch in highest possible detail), removes understeer problems, adds proper downforce and consequently allows for more realistic suspension behavior. Even small bumps have a noticeable effect on handling now. All driveable surfaces have reworked properties. Leaving the road/track and going completely off-road has a noticeable effect on handling. More distinct differences between different surfaces and you can get stuck in swamps. The effect of weather on surfaces has also been reworked. Swamps are even more dangerous in heavy rain. Collision with foliage has been reworked. 130kph speed cap on dirt roads has been removed. Weight transfer in vehicles has been increased and vehicles roll over more realistically. Oversteer is easier to initiate but also requires active counter-steering. Small tweaks to AI and police vehicles (brake earlier before sharp turns). Version 2.0 also introduces non-ABS cars. Release 2.0 will be available in two different versions: Real Speed and Scaled Topspeed. The Scaled Topspeed version has been created as a result of your requests/feedback. It features a subtle speed governor and subtle brake assist, while also featuring increased compatibility with AI and story missions. Version 2.0 supports the latest DLCs. Comet Retro, Elegy Retro, Specter Custom, Nero Custom, Ruiner 2000... all your favorite cars are supported.

Exactly. The game reaches max steering in 0.200 seconds, which is very bad for keyboard drivers. Last month i started experimenting with slightly less realistic tire settings in order to reduce problems caused by the game's steering input. Cars are less "understeery" with the new tire settings and more fun at lower speeds but a complete rework of every single car would take 110+ hours of work. Not sure if i will ever finish that rework.

are you talking about the gear display of the speedometer? The speedometer's script probably has flaws.

the screwed up police interceptor physics are not caused by this mod. its Rockstar's doing. i dont have access to the files causing this. Rockstar screwed the interceptor up, not me.

you can spawn Lowriders with the trainer that comes with Alexander Blade's Script Hook. Hydraulics work for all 6 cars.

i finished adding all 10 cars from the 'Lowrider' DLC to this mod. Buccaneer2, Chino2, Faction1, Faction2, Moonbeam1, Moonbeam2, Primo2, Voodoo1, Franken Stange, Lurcher. Hydraulics seem to be working fine. It wont be long now until v1.0 is released.

Status update: worked for 150+ hours since last release, the list of improvements is pretty big. And i am almost done. Looks like i will finish on Oct 20, which is when the Lowrider DLC will be released. it would make sense to add the new lowrider cars to this mod before publishing my progress.

i took a look at trucks and transport vehicles. There are 39 vehicles in this category. Adding them to the mod would take an additional 70 hours of work.

some of the improvements that i made require me to rework every single vehicle. it takes a lot of time to rework 180+ vehicles. i cannot release until all of the vehicle have been updated to work with the new settings. I need to work for at least another 50 hours. it will take at least 2 more weeks. the wait will be worth it.

Status update: i worked for 38 hours on airplane flight physics and finished making proper handling for all 7 propeller planes. I also improved cornering and braking of all cars and bikes. And when i say 'improve' i am not talking about making brake distance shorter. i am talking about improving the physics, eg tires losing more lateral grip when braking. i also disabled the auto-brake system, making relaxed cruising possible and significantly improving low-speed throttle control for keyboard drivers (-> supercars more fun to dive). I worked for a total of 75 hours since the last update but i am not done yet! i still plan to add vans, trucks and helicopters. Cannot make any promises though.

you are runnning an outdated version of the game. it crashes because your game version is so old that it doesnt include the Vindicator DLC bike.

This mod is fully compatible with game update 1.29. I checked. Also this update fixes about 60% of the performance issues that R* deliberately added to the game 3 MONTHS ago.

I have uploaded all the progress that i had with this mod. Rockstar broke the game. It is not possible to work on this mod when the game doesnt run. This mod is discontinued until Cockstar fixes the game. Which might be right after hell freezes. Because **** the paying customers. Cockstar is asking you to pirate their **** game and you better comply.

As if the deliberately added extreme stutter/hickup from the 'ill gotten pains' downgrade wasnt enough. With the recent ****** UP Unsocial Club update i cant even play the game anymore. i constantly get logged out with the game demanding that i manually sign into Unsocial Club again and complete 4 Captchas. **** YOU ROCKSTAR, I AM NOT COMPLETING 4 CAPTCHAS EVERY 10 MINUTES IN ORDER TO PLAY SINGLEPLAYER!

Who do you think you are? Posting a comment on an abandoned website and waiting for 14 hours does not give you the right to upload someone else's work in your name. You had multiple ways to contact me (moddb, gtaforums, YT) and yet you decided not to contact me and ask for permission before you started uploading my work. Not a single effort to contact me. Typical behavior of a dishonest person. And no, making a few random changes to someone else's mod does not make his mod "yours". This is still *my* mod whether you thieves like it or not. If you want credit for a mod, create one yourself. 'Creating' a mod means starting from scratch, not replacing some author's name with yours.
