Hi. It is easy.
Any pk3 file is just a zip archive which can be opened by WinRAR or 7Zip. A lot of types of files (sab, npc, veh, efx and so on) inside are just text files which can be opened by Notepad or any other text editor.
That's all you need to know to start.
