I actually already did all of the rank/name things that you mentioned (Soviet recruits are privates, NPCs wearing officer caps have higher ranks, etc), as well as expanding the roster of names for all factions to 200. Sadly, I recently had a bunch of tech issues with my laptop that ended up with my hard drive wiped and a ton of stuff, including this mod, unrecoverable. If the mod is to continue I'd have to completely recreate everything from scratch, and I just feel so tired and drained right now.

Honestly, currently it's just random that when they try to reload they might instead switch to their pistol to squeeze off a few shots with that. I might expand on it like with what you said, but right now I'm just happy to have gotten the basics working properly.

I feel like having it be distance-based would cause a few problems, because it would make them be less effective in close quarters and you'd be able to mess with enemies by rushing them and making them switch.

Hey, could you teach me how to decompile/edit/recompile Call of Duty 1 maps? I'm working on a mod but I have no idea how to edit the BSP files and I can't find anything on the internet that I can make sense of.

Do you need help with anything? I can map/retexture/make sounds and stuff, and I'd like to think I'm half-decent at those.

Also, here's some ideas for enemy variants that might be interesting:

1) A fast (maybe with a cloaking device, where they're less visible while still, semi-visible while moving, and fully visible while planting traps/attacking) enemy that doesn't use weapons but tries to lure the player into self-placed traps using GrenPlace and GrenDrop animations.

2) A sort of commander that uses all of the hand signals (attack when spotting player, flank left and flank right when the player hides, form on me if he starts taking damage) to coordinate other enemies in the same squad (members of the squad don't really make their own tactical decisions at first), and if killed the squad dissipates (so the squad members don't relay any information and generally act dumber) and fear the player (not sure about Combine, but citizens usually just take potshots while retreating/hiding from feared enemies so this could work).

Some suggestions.

Would it be at all possible to add in the ability for Combine Soldiers to roll and drop grenades? They already have the animations for it.

Speaking of animations, can you also make it so that the Combine use all of the hand signals? In-game, I think they only use one or two.

Also, can you change it so that shotgun soldiers will hide out of sight and wait for the player instead of charging him head-on and dying?

Also, better accuracy.

One major question I have: will you release a seperate version of the mod with only Combine Soldier changes (where the AI is the same for all difficulties) and everything else being normal HL2? Because I don't really want any of the other changes (including restricting AI to difficulty).

Great mod, replayed it three times because of how awesome it was.

Just a question that has been on my mind for a while now; how did you make the Combine Soldiers jump down from ledges? I've been searching for a way, but so far I have found nothing on the internet.
