Sounds a bit like an issue with the antivirus. Try disabling the antivirus temporarily and do the extraction to see if it works.
If the file is deleted again when the antivirus goes up then it's probably identifying the game as harmful. Does your friend use the same antivirus?
Previously the older versions would be disabled when the newer ones came out, not sure if this is the case for the demo, but the 2.0 has newer stuff so it would make sense to disable 1.0 as to not confuse the players, albeit a bit troublesome.

No, it's good to go. Played till the end of the demo without any problems.
Seems like you can just head to the downloads tab to download the demo.
Enjoying the game so far, although a few things to point out based up to level 3. The pillars that move or pop out when you're near to it may require an indicator to lets players know, instead of a surprise that may be too late for some to dodge. Perhaps make this an optional indicator for those who aren't as good.
