So, what exactly is "high-end system" considered when installing the mod and it asks you what kind of system you have?

I have a Ryzen 9 5900x, 3080ti, 32gb ram, and 2 nvme m.2 drives (NOT SATA but actual nvme. 1 for windows, 1 for games).
Not exacty thee ABSOLUTELY latest and greatest but I would think I have a "high-end system" enough to run this mod at at least 60 fps. I'M GETTING ANYWHERE FROM 40 FPS TO 61 FPS. And I have Nvidia Control Panel settings so everything is set to "performance".

Do I just have an incompatible system when it comes to this mod?
Or, is there something wrong and I SHOULD be getting more FPS?
And again, what IS considered "high-end system" when the installer is asking you what kind of system you have?

I'm just trying to figure out what the bottleneck is.

is this for version 1.05?

I installed Ziggy's mod and then Normal/Extreme on top of it and now when i try to load the game the second time I can't even click on Play or Options.
I know for a fact it's one of these two because I've done 3 clean installs and it runs fine without the mods but adding them causes the game to not recognize the save file the second tiime I try to play.

We can install Ziggy's mod, then add a "normal"/"Infested" add-on on top of it, right?

I'm installing Ziggy's mod and then Normal-Extreme after it.
I get weird bugs every time that I have to reinstall game, 3 times already.
Could be just coincidence that something's going on upon game install, or, the can NOT be compatible.
I like to know instead of guessing.

I hear Anomaly is really good. I haven't played it personally because I'm waiting to get my 3080 from evga so i can truly enjoy the graphics, but with the time it's been playable already I assume most of the bugs are worked out. That's the thing about CoC,and this is 1.4.22 we're talking about, this thing hasn't seen updates in a sad long while. From what I hear Anomaly has implemented a lot of the features that made CoC great and on top of that is supposed to have better performance as they're building on everything they learned from CoC and it's mods/add-ons, they're not starting from scratch.
You're honestly better off with Anomaly.

At Yanov and getting crazy amount of CTD. I literally have 30+ logs with same exact error every time...

Seems to happen when I'm near Yanov station. Only "fix" is to run away far enough from the station before it happens and then come back. Just reloading save won't fix as it seems to happen even after reload.
Example: I just saved at station, 5 minutes later I'm at station mechanic upgrading weapons, crash happens, reload save, go to upgrade weapons and 5 minutes later crash happens again, reload save, go to chest and go thru my stuff, 5 min later CTD.
Sometimes if I load the save again but then immediately sleep for a few hours it'll "go past that point" somehow and won't crash, but most times I have to leave Yanov station so is not in the immediate A-life area, then come back, then it'll be fine again.

Bug.

Just used Antibiotics for the first time in first map to save myself from a blowout, after waking up I can't equip ANYTHING. No weapons, bolt, detector, knife. I try switching weapons in backpack, uncheck/check "show weapon" in "Game" settings. Tried taking antibiotics again just to see, taking it in a different save, away from others, inside the ship.
Can't equip any items no matter what.

I'm just not going to use them for now but if I'm ever away from shelter during a blowout I'm going to have to load from a previous save.

Any fix to guards not opening doors when mission icon is present?

The only fix I found was shooting the guard, escaping the no shoot zone, and returning to find a different guard that let's you in. But I tried it, 4 times (4 different guards lol) and still every time the hand icon doesn't appear.
Damn near done with Act 2 and that is THE ONLY mission available, will be ashame to restart but that's going to be my only option.

Anyone else getting shadow issues/bugs with this mod?

In Swamp, playing on highest DX version with Extreme video settings (95% max settings under "Advanced" section). At Fishing Hamlet for the first time I start to walk to the Lookout Tower right next to it. As I'm walking around the bridge area, either right before or right after, I get entire sections of the ground turn to pitch black shadow, flashing in and out as I walk.

Don't know what this is, tried fresh install 2 or 3 times, same deal same area.
Anyone else have this happen?

What's the Universal Grass Distance file supposed to do?

yeah, I've played with uni-grass distance and I don't see what it's supposed to do. I thought it was supposed to fix the low distance grass render popping up problem but it looks the same as vanilla.

Yeah, when you drop files over other files you're just going to over ride them/install over them. I always merge addons or mods with WinMerge. It's free and SOOOO easy to use. Saved me many a headache trying to add line by line to a single file. Now I just go down a window that has both files side by side and click whatever lines I want to keep.

found out what it is. If you installed Patch 1.2 and added the AA2 Eye Candy option then that's what it's probably going to be.
If you read the description page for Patch 1.2 he wrote it in there.

I did a clean install and added everything BUT the AA2 Eye Candy option and it runs fine now.

So I got the mod running but I have a question.

As I move around and hug the walls I get this side head bob. This happens if I hold the strife left or strife right buttons down strife walking into the direction of a wall when I'm next to the wall. It's pretty annoying because as the hud side-bobs the camera clips through the wall. And this isn't the normal "head bob" as I added the option to remove it. This only happens when strifing into the wall.

Any way to remove this action?

Edit: Okay, never mind. Got rid of the weapon sway when looking down iron sights by using the same strife animation files from my CoC game.
If anyone else wants to get rid of weapon sway (while looking down iron sights) let me know and I'll upload the files.

Okay, well, that sucks but now you're pointed in the right direction.
So, I'm not sure what to make of that info but a surefire method to find out the problem is doing this.
Uninstall EVERYTHING. Reinstall game, install SoC patch if it needs it. Run the game to make sure everything runs fine, play 10 seconds of actual gameplay. Install the mods "Base" folder ONLY, make the shortcut, make the target (" -steam"), run the game, play a few seconds. Add the options you want one-by-one and as you do run the game and play a few seconds in-game to make sure it runs the way it's supposed to. Keep doing this untill everything is added and sure enough you'll find what folder/option/files are causing the problem.
Once you know what folder/option is the problem look over the moddb page of the files to see if you missed an important part of the description.

This is a bit slow but I guarantee you it'll be faster than taking a shot in the dark repeated times.
I was having weird texture problems where the textures were so messed up it looked like the textures were all pointed at random areas. I did what I'm telling you to do and I found the AA2 Eye Candy option was the problem. I found out that Patch 1.2 and AA2 option were incompatible and that I should run the patch and NOT AA2 because the patch is better.

If it's the same one I have it looks the the textures are all angled wrong, almost as if you're seeing the textures from the side.

If it's the same thing I think it's the 1.2 patch. If you're using it with the AA2 Eye Candy option then they are incompatible. Read the 1.2 Patch page description.
Creator says reinstall game and run the patch but NOT AA2 Eye Candy option as the patch 1.2 already looks better.

OOOOOOOOOHHHhh! Okay, that's why I'm getting that wack textures bug, where ALL textures look like they're flying in towards the center. I KNEW it had something to do with AA2. That's what happens when you rush into modding a game without reading all instructions.

Go into "bin_x64" (after you installed in into your main game folder), left click on "xrEngine.exe" so it's highlighted, now right click on it and near the bottom of that window should be "Create shortcut", click on that, it'll create a shortcut within the same folder, that's fine. Now left click on the shortcut to highlight it, now right click on it, click on "Properties", in the new window there should be a few tab options, one of them should be "Shortcut", click on it of you're not already on it. Look for the line that starts "Target:", to the right of "Target:" should be a box with some text inside like ""C:\Games\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl\bin_x64\xrEngine.exe"" (<-there's 2 sets of quotes because the address/text actually begins and ends with quotes).
NOW, click your cursor inside the box and with your arrow keys move your cursor all the way to the right/end of the text. Once you're at the end (AFTER the final set of quotes) press the spacebar ONCE and add "-steam" (<-without the quotes, the quotes are there to let you know what you should type and nothing more). If you did it correctly it should look something like this...

"C:\Games\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl\bin_x64\xrEngine.exe" -steam

And there should be quotes before the drive letter ("C:\..., or "D:\..., whatever drive corresponds with the game), and one more quote after ...exe", then (space)(dash)steam
DON'T FORGET to click "Apply" and then "Okay" before closing the window.
...and that's it.

I was having the same problem running Shoc Enhanced. did the whole make shortcut from xrEngine.exe from within bin_x64 but got CTD saying I needed vcruntime140_app.dll, installed the dll but then I got the missing OpenAL error. But I only thought there was a 32 version as it sits in my "bin" folder, now that I have the right file I'll try it, but to tell the truth I kinda want to play this mod now.

okay, problem.

So I copy pasted gamedata to main SoC directory, copy pasted bin_x64 to same directory (so both bin_x64 and bin are in D:/Shadows of Chernobyl), I also went into bin_x64 and created a shortcut to the xrEngine.exe that was in there, added the " -steam" to target, apply/okay. (Do I need to do this even though I don't use Steam?)
Got CTD saying I was missing vcruntime140_app.dll, so i dl'ed vcruntime140_app.dll x32 and x64 versions (because it didn't tell me which one I needed), placed the x32 in my C:/Windows/SysWOW64 and the x64 in system32 folder (don't know why it said x32 goes in SysWOW64 and the x64 in system32 but those were the instructions), also I have windows 10. Ran game again...

...Oh, are we supposed to launch from the default exe shortcut in the main directory, or the shortcut within bin_x64?

...Because if I try to launch from the shortcut in bin_x64 I get CTD and message saying "...cannot proceed because OpenAL32.dll was not found..." but I do see OpenAL32.dll in the "bin" folder (not bin_x64). I don't think Open AL32 goes in the x64 bin but I copy/pasted it in bin_x64 anyway just to see and i get "...unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)" error.
Removing the OpenAL32 from the bin_x64 folder and trying to launch from the default exe shortcut in the main directory I get CTD...

Sorry for the late reply but thanks, you told me everything I need to get this running. I was only asking about the weapons because I remember the default weapons were REALLY lacking, but if you're already using an HD weapon mod then that's good enough.
I was only asking about ZRP for the vast bug fixes but I'm pretty sure you added bug fixes, other than that I have no qualms about not using it.

you'll be able to make a lot of video changes including removing just the blur if you want. I think you can even do #3 from there too.

I want to run this mod but it's been a while sense I played SoC with mods. I forgot, is it recommended to install ZRP before this?

Also, is there a weapon mod/add-on that you recommend that works well with this? I want to play with HD weapon textures and possibly better ballistics and this mod is only for the environment, correct?

Also what patch do I need? I read 1.0006 has better widescreen support but only really better for multiplayer support, patches are up to unofficial 1.0008c but 1.0004 is good for "most mods".

I totally forgot how to get SoC running with bug fixes, would like to enter the Zone again with this mod first. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using Audacity? If you are you need to go to "file" then "export" then it should give you options like "export as .WAV" "export as .MP3" "export as .OGG"...

Yeah I hate that crap. I wish you could punch them back the way they do to you and you wouldn't lose rep points.
I hate it when an Allie starts shooting at you (for whatever reason, like they were caught in friendly fire) and YOUR OWN FACTION won't do a damn thing to help you/stop him but as soon as you DEFEND yourself all of a sudden you're being shot at by your own guys! BULL💩!
Whatever, that's why I mostly play "All out war" setting. I'll wipe my own platoon out if they get in my way.

I have a problem that I don't know how to fix or if it can be fixed.
I've noticed that when you hit an NPC and they go into a stun animation, during the stun animation no matter what they get hit with or as many rounds (I think unless it's like a RPG, I THINK) they are completely invulnerable.
I've hit NPCs point blank with 1 round shotgun, they go into stun, I follow up without stopping with another 3-4 rounds, and they come out of the stun animation with **** and vinegar, meanwhile I need to reload because I'm out and next thing I know I'm chikki brikki with my d1ck in the dirt!

I'm using a few mods and add-ons but the only ones I think it could be are...
CoC 1.4.22
AO
OA
or Warfare.

I haven't played vanilla CoC in years but I'm thinking it's the way NPCs are programed in CoC.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
Is there a fix of some sort?

I know there's a file in gamedata that has a line that's something like "invulnerable after hit = x.x" but that seems to be for the player and is only used when you drop the difficulty.

Also, one thing I loved about Clear Sky and Warzone mod was that they were able to leave in NPC AI such as NPCs removing dead bodies from a camp after a battle. Also dogs would start to eat or drag away dead NPCs or dead mutants. By comparison CoC seems pretty empty. The AI in CoC just seems a lot more 2 dimensional compared to the AI from say Warzone mod for Clear Sky.
Is there an add-on that reintroduces these behaviors back into CoC?

I've looked and looked and I can't find anything. Anyone else know of a stun invulnerability bug fix? Or an AI behavior add-on for CoC?

Any help would be much appreciated.
