Thanks for the responses. I love Half Life, so I wanted to give it a try and see if it was faithful to the original. The difficulty feels really hard for some reason like one soldier can drain your 100hp/100shield in a second. Other than that, the levels seem really faithful to the original.

Hi,

What's the difference between this version, and the paid version on Steam? Is there more content in the Steam release? I wanted to give it a try and see what all the hype is about.

Well like the article was saying, we are able to spawn literally 1000s of items in the world, so there will a lot of loot available for everyone. We would like for it to be as dynamic as possible, placing items in logical areas.

While finding food in a store seems like it would make sense, one also must remember that someone has probably came long before you and cleaned it out. So the idea is to have these kind of items be found near campsites or refuges for the mutants or bandits. Whereas something like scrap metal, would found off abandoned vehicles.

This is a little off the topic, but this goes for our enemies as well. Mutants and bandits both congregate towards sources of food, water and shelter. So as you approach say, a large body of water like a lake, odds are you are going to find something nearby. This goes for areas like, small cities or caves as well, these are sources of shelter and protection for the NPCs, just as much as the player.

I hope this somewhat answers the question. I can't give away too much of the technical details, I am sorry. :s

There will be human bandit NPC. They behave like the mutants, meaning they will be aggressive towards the player. I am not sure if we are going to have friendly or neutral NPCs. That does sound like a very exciting idea though. Of course, we would have to make sure players wouldn't simply murder the friendly NPCs and take their stuff. So they would probably have some powerful allies/guards, to at least deter it.
Great idea though~

Hmm, the only other .WAD I have is DoomMetal.
I can try shutting it off and see if that corrects the problem.
Other than that, I am using the latest version of Brutal Doom.

I never had a problem with DoomMetal and the older versions of Brutal Doom before.
But, I will give it a shot and see what happens.
Thank you for the response.

I got a weird bug or glitch here.
Whenever I die, or quit and load my save. I lose all my weapons.
I can't pick weapons up, or switch weapons if I load a save or die and load an auto-save.
I saved with all my guns at the beginning of a stage. I quit, come back and re-load my save. All of my weapons are gone, I can't pick weapons up, and I can't switch to anything except my rifle. I can't even equip my fists.
