Incidentally, do the new monsters work for you at all? I haven't seen a single one. I'm wondering if I'm loading something wrong or if my Ultimate Doom .wad is outdated? When I load I also get a bunch of textures and tiles that are "unknown" or non-existant". It doesn't crash the game or anything but I feel like I'm missing out on the full experience.

Oliacym created a patch that fixes this issue. It's posted here in the replies a few comments down. I checked it out and it works fine with the patch.

You're a stud. You could always upload it to Mediafire or create a Google Drive "link only" share to it. Did you have to mess with the code in the Doom:ONE wad?

Make sure you post this in the Doom:ONE board as well. Lots of people there asking about this issue.

So, you figure the monster code changed from v19 to v20 might be causing it?

What seems odd to me is that I can run Ep2 just fine with v20 but not Ep3, and neither Ep2 or Ep3 work with PB.

I don't know why I feel like if we could figure out how to disable/bypass the cutscene and just start the Ep at the original point on the map it would work.

I went as far as deleting the SCRIPTS for Eps2 and 3 and setting the Cluster to 0 for both in the MAPINFO file and it still had no effect so I think the cutscenes might be coded elsewhere or in a different manner that we n00bs dont know about.

Well, I decided to download a .wad editor to see if I could disable the cutscenes in Ep2 and Ep3 and, even after scouring the code for "Intermission" tags in the MAPINFO file or any misplaced "EndGame" tags in the SCRIPTS, I could not find the cause. The cutscenes aren't coded in MAPINFO as "Intermission" and deleting/modifying any code in the SCRIPTS file listing the cutscene Scripts as being "open" had no effect.

Granted, I have zero experience coding/editing .wads and I'm only going off of the very few clues I gleaned from reading the ZDoom wiki on coding. Anyone with more experience want to give it a shot? The only other clue I can give you is that Brutal Doom v19 has no problems running these episodes with Doom:One.

Interestingly, however, I loaded it with Brutal Doom v19 and it worked just fine so it must be something in the code with BDv20 and PB. This is great and everything but I really wanted to play with all the new stuff in BDv20 at least since PB doesn't work at all.

I don't mean to butt in on the middle of this but I was wondering if you knew about the issue some of us have been having pairing this with the Doom:One maps?

I tried it out with "No Monsters" and it still "insta-wins" the episode.

I did manage to play Ep 2 with Brutal Doom v20 but Ep 3 still doesn't work with either Bdv20 or PB.

You're not the only one having this problem. I've been talking with a few of the other guys on this and the Project Brutality page and no one has found a way around it yet.

I did manage to play Ep 2 with Brutal Doom v20 but so far I haven't been able to play Ep 3 with either one. Someone said they managed to skip the cutscene by holding/hammering spacebar right as the cutscene screen popped up but this didn't work for me.

Now that I think about it, a good way to test that theory would be to run with the "no monsters" parameter and see if it works.

You might be right. The problem is most likely exacerbated by the cutscene screens at the beginning of every episode in Project Brutality. It makes sense that only the first episode works considering Knee Deep in the Dead doesn't have an "end boss" so to speak.

Well, after some testing, my findings are this:

1. I stripped all my add-ons and sub-mods and attempted to load only Project Brutality and Doom:One. No success. Every episode skips to the end except for Knee Deep.

2. Loaded ONLY Doom:One to see if maybe my version of GZDoom or my Project Brutality were incompatible. Success. All episodes load and play their cutscenes with no issues.

3. Attempted to load Brutal Doom v20 and Doom:One. Success. Shores of Hell loaded with cutscene and no issues. I didn't try any other episodes yet, so I can't be certain they all work.

It seems it's some issue between Project Brutality and Doom:One. I wish I had an answer but it looks like I'll have to play the rest of the episodes with BDv20 only (not that that's a bad thing!)

I hadn't ruled out load order or anything, I simply wanted to see how rampant this issue was and how, had the same problem occurred, others had dealt with it.

That said, I am going to mess with the load order and see if I can get anywhere with it.

Love this mod. Question: Has anyone paired this with the Doom:One map pack? I did and it worked beautifully with Knee Deep in the Dead. However, any time I try to start a new game with ANY other episode, the game starts but IMMEDIATELY skips to the end screen as if the last level had been finished and the episode had been completed.

Anyone else have this problem? Are the two mods incompatible outside of the first episode? This same question has been posted by others in the Doom:One page but it seems no one has had any insight yet so I figured I'd pick your brains here.

I'm having this problem also. I'm using the latest Project Brutality mod and it worked beautifully with Knee Deep in the Dead but no other episodes work. They all automatically jump to the end the moment the cutscene pops up with no time given to try to skip or really do anything.

I really want to continue my Doom:One experience but it seems impossible at the moment. Any ideas?
