I think in one of Corey Loses' video's he says that Grevious will 'upgrade' his flagship in Galactic Conquest. So I think he goes from a regular Providence to Invisible Hand to Subjugator.

If he dies in space combat in Glactic Conquest, he downgrades by ship until he 'dies' for a duration, or he's dead for real (can't remember which one).

As for Skirmish, I imagine he'll just be in the Invisible Hand.

I hope that helps.

Just want to say to you guys (the dev team): keep up the great work. I understand the love, time, care and attention that goes into making mods, and it's a great commitment.

I just want to give you credit where it's due with sticking with the project for as long as you have. Good luck, and know you've got another Watcher.

It is when the C is a K. It is German and translates to 'Lightning War', which I'm sure you know since you're from the Fatherland. Spelling mistakes happen everywhere, to everyone. You also used incorrect grammar within your comment here, sir. Allow me to show you:

"It's difficult to take this mod seriously when it has such an unprofessional description.

'Blitzcrieg'? That isn't even a word."

Sir, I personally have nothing but respect for people until they prove me otherwise, but before you criticize another person for what they spell and/or do, please ensure that you are not making similar, or worse, mistakes.

Thank you, and have a great day.

Sincerely,

Jafod
Head of the Writing Department

Hey @GearsGoAwryMan, I'm curious about your idea's on the paragraph. I do agree that the stories often came across as B-Movie-esque.

I do think, however, that by leaving it as open as it is, it allows the community to make the game all the more successful. Perhaps it is more about the writers using the freedom given by Westwood. Whether or not this was intentional, I don't know, and may never know unless I can talk with Joe Kucan and the rest of the writing team.

Also, thank you for your honesty and bluntness. Is there any way you think we can either make that part better or replace it entirely?

Sincerely,

Jafod

Hey Ahrimansiah, it's great to hear from you, and I'm glad you asked. This is to help show everyone what goes on behind the scenes. Often, there is far more to mod development than just the finished project, and from my understanding, you have some experience in the field.

This is us wanting ya'll to see all the planning, work, thought and care that we have tried our best to put into our factions side-by-side; both in the finished project, and the infrastructure that allows us to make said project.

Documents like the one above are necessary for us for a few reasons. First would be it helps maintain a measure of professionalism and organization. Second is that we have had so many team members who jump on board, but of course don't know the project as well as those who are currently on the team. This helps make it clear to the team members who are coming in with little to no previous knowledge, giving them all the information they need in multiple, clear spreadsheets and other documents. Third, there is a measure of satisfaction that can be gained from having had set up documentation such as this, which boosts not only the moral of the document's authour, but the other team members as well.

If you're simply having issues with the titles/lack thereof, the colour-coding corresponds to a faction. ASI=Cyan, Green=Colony, Orange=D51, Yellow=GDI, Black/Red=Nod, Purple=Scrin.

I hope this answers your question.

Sincerely,

Jafod

Hello, Jafod (Head of the Writing Department) here. As for lore and story, may I direct you to the Articles section and a Video spliced together (it is a bit dated; you have been warned). In the Articles Section you will find the stories and lore that has already been written and released to ya'll, including a longer linear narrative.

You can find the Longer Linear Narrative here:
Moddb.com

Here are the links to the videos.
Trailer:
Youtube.com
Campaign:

Additionally, the Forgotten Mod has an FMV Campaign. It is of course a 'No Budget' Production, but it is still most certainly worth a look. You can find it here:
Moddb.com

While we do like the idea of putting together FMV's and Campaign Sequences like the ones featured in the Base Game Series, it is unfortunately not practical for the foreseeable future, especially when considering the amount of work that would have to be put in to make it up to our standards, and the fact that we are not making any money from this project.

Thank you for your interest in our project, and I hope I answered all your questions and concerns.

First Contact is always a little stressful... I'd just imagine this being the first time these soldiers have seen a harvester. One must remember that harvesters are not actually front line units; the only reason they're on the frontlines in the games is due to the factions all still needing some kind of Resource Gathering mechanic.

Please refer to my previous comment about how the old GDD is being overhauled to ensure that it makes as much sense as possible. With regards to your question, it will be clarified in the revised version of the GDD.

Hello all!

This is Jafod, Head of the Writing Department. I would just like to say that this excerpt came from an older version of the GDD, which we are currently in the process of overhauling to be as clear and coherent as possible.

I would like to personally thank you all for your continued interest and support, and I can't wait for us to finish more content for ya'll to view.

Sincerely,

That just means that they want to know how long until it's released.
How many days it's delayed by (for whatever reason) is just another way of saying it.
The mod I'm working on (and the rest of the team, of course) has gone through a number of delays due to natural disasters and family issues on the part of the core members. I've seen the many ways that this question can be phrased, and even if they think they are asking a different question, that's what this means.

If I'm wrong, I'm sure he can go ahead and inform me himself rather than someone else who may be misinterpreting him just as badly as I may be.

As they have said above, they won't even estimate as to when their release will be. They want to be sure that they are putting out a complete piece. They are clearly dedicated and wanting to make sure that their work is polished and complete, unlike certain game companies *cough cough* Bethesda *cough cough*.

I don't work on the mod, but selling units does sound feasible. In Red Alert 3, the Russian Faction had a structure called the 'Crusher Crane' that recycled units. You didn't get your full money's worth back, but after all, it is used goods.

I'm not a member of the team here (just to make sure that there is no confusion) but if you go to the developer page (Slugfest Studios) you can see all of the members of the development team. Canadaman is still on that list, and is listed as a/the Founder.

I know it may not exactly answer your question, but he is still, at the very least, attached to the development team in some way.

The Radio play should be embedded with the Story itself when it's uploaded, so you should be able to read along with it on the one web page.

Thank you very much for your support.

We're currently working on more lore. If you'd like more that's already been posted, you can take a look at this:

Moddb.com

However, that is a very outdated version, and I have personally taken the time as the principle editor for this work, along with the other members of the writing department to edit the story to bring about its full potential. This story will also have a Radio Play (Voiced by myself).

We here on the mod team, and especially in the writing department, are very grateful to you and the other followers that we have. Thank you for your support, and I hope that you enjoy our future works.

Sincerely, Jafod.

I've got a really high-end PC as well, however, I haven't lagged at all (well, except when speeding up time to x8), and I'm playing on a map with 99 planets, one star, and a full house of Max difficulty Covenant (I'm playing a Free For All round). I keep on seeing people posting that they're experiencing lag, and it doesn't make sense.

The Flood can be a pain if not handled correctly. They replace the pirate bases (to an extent) and are able to take over your ships if you're not careful. I'd recommend using weak, long range ships to take them out from afar, so that when you lose your ships they're easy to beat.

The thing is that people can get tired of working on the same thing for so long. Sometimes, they want to try out something else. Also, it'll be something that hasn't been done as much. There are countless of halo mods for space games, but much less well-made halo mods for land-based games.

I myself am on a mod team that has been working on the same mod for the last... 5 years. I haven't been a part of the team for nearly that long, but I understand what you're saying.

I get that it's disappointing, but ultimately, we should just be happy that they aren't giving up on modding entirely, especially since they do such exceptional work.
