Thank you for reporting this bug. It's probably related to Xbox 360 Controller drivers. Try to install these drivers on your laptop and retry to launch the game.( Microsoft.com )

Hi, thanks for your interest in our game.
We're actually working on Windows as our main platform, so we focused on this one for our beta demo.
But we will try to make a Linux version of this demo as soon as possible. So stay tuned for more information about it.
