Well I can see that we're all very clever gentlemen here, but it seems that you have one thing mistaken which I would like to straighten out. This mod is not dead. I'm going to release the most refined beta within the next day or so. So stay tuned.

No. For the time being, there will not be any Space Maps. We may continue to expand upon the first release, adding more vehicles and maps, if it seems worthwhile. But first we're going to refine and release what we've got now, and see how widely played it is.

No, not for the time being. The first release of the mod will not have any Space maps, although some form of space map is not unfeasible for a later release. Whether we add one depends on how popular the mod is - whether it seems worthwhile.

Well. Lots of reasons. First of all, we started on the Renegade engine, and over the long course of our development, I've always felt that switching engines was a foolish waste of time that could only have one result - the demise of our mod. A lot of mods switch from one engine to another, over and over again, and end up never releasing because they're always trying to re-learn modding on the new engine, so I basically decided that no matter how long this mod took us, we wouldn't switch engines. Furthermore, one of our original goals was to promote this game. We like it, and we think other people would too if they tried it, so if we can bring in a few new players to the game by producing a mod that is of interest to lots of gamers, then we've done those people and other Renegade fans a favor. Several mods that were originally intended to be made for Renegade have switched to newer engines, with bad results all around. The mod Desert Warfare moved to BattleField 1942, and closed shop about 6 months later, for various reasons, one of the bigger of which was a lack of coders. The mod Renalert, which made public releases for Renegade, moved to BattleField 1942, then to BF2, and then on to another new FPS (whose name escapes me at the moment). And they never released for any of those engines. In the end, they shut down all their non-Renegade productions and came back to work on their Renegade-version of the mod. Our mod has taken longer than I hoped it would, and that's largely because no one on our staff was a modder when we decided to do this thing - we were just regular gamers. So we've learned as we progressed, but we've stuck with Renegade because it's what we know and it's what we love. Besides, it's good enough for us, and relatively easy to mod.

Wow. That's a wordy response. Bottom line is, we've stuck with it because it we like it!

Wow, I really hadn't noticed how much these unoriginal, uncreative, and unproductive little n00bs had spammed our comments thread. Cleaned that up. If they do it again, there will be greater consequences than me deleting their pointless and unintelligible messages.

"Will Darth Vader have a lightsaber and will he be able to deflect bullets and throw people around using the force?"
No. Sadly, despite our best efforts, we were unable to rig up a decent system for force powers or melee weapons, due to the limitations of the Renegade Engine. Vader is set apart from other Imperial Characters by his HP.

"is this mod reely late or sommat because it says it will be released in summer 2004 or was tht a mistake??"
Yeeeeaah. Around the summer of 2004 we thought about releasing a beta, and even threw together some crappy maps and buildings. We decided to save face, though, and hang on to the mod until it was the quality release that we wanted it to be. Since then we've redone all our buildings, most of our vehicles, a few weapons, and some maps. The real public release should be out very shortly, it's in internal testing at the moment.

"will there be maps from episode 1,2,3 so you can be clons or droids?"

No, this mod places emphasis on Starwars episodes IV, V, and VI. We will have some droids, such as R2D2 or C3P0, but not the droid armies that appeared in earlier episodes.
