You are very much welcome btw :)

And I really do hope that it all does work out (would even like to help) but truthfully the only way that I COULD see it running smoothly even if you were to get the game to run from 1,500 BC all the way through to the base game end date in 1453, there would probably have to be a LOT of cut corners. Like certain features you might not be able to add or even sacrifice in order to get it up and running fully.

Again, love the idea behind the mod but for sure would have to see what it would look like at least after 3 full book mark starts and run through's. Because one is not enough and two is kinda okay... But after three you might really start hitting those rode bumps.

As ambitious as this mod is and as much I would love it, there is one major flaw which is just glaring at me... The possible crashing.

Don't get me wrong, I see very much possible great potential in this mod because there was a guy that did a dark ages mod like last year (which started with the bookmark 100 AD with Emperor Trajan and just rolled naturally into the regular CK2 game) but he ended up stopping the mod because it just took him way to much time on his own with so much that he was trying to do (and all he was doing was 5 or 6 new bookmarks with the added 600 some odd years to it)

Anyway, side track aside, when I say crashing, the major issue that I would see with this really would be the fact of cramming that much history into the game and then still trying to roll this mod into the base game as well (as in you start the game in 1500 BC and let it roll naturally into the 763 start date then let it play out all the way till the end of the regular base game)

So by all means if you can make it work man then I am all for it and totally encourage you as well as the rest of us here. But I am just voicing a major concern that I could potentially see in releasing this game all together when it is finished.

Just to be clear though, this new mod that you are making is not going to transition into the base game of CK2 or it will? As in will this mod be where on your mod the last book mark will be 527, and then the 763 start date will seamlessly transition over into the regular game, or is this basically going to be like your version of Roma Universalis where it's a totally different mod all together like the Game of Throne mod is? I am just curious. I am hoping it's the former.

Okay cool. Sweet! More timeline dates for the Dark Ages Mod :D Of course at this time you might as well not call it just Dark Ages anymore. Lol! Getting way past that name for start dates. But if you do update this mod with the new start dates, will you be able to integrate it with the two new DLC's of conclave and reapers due? If so that would be fantastic. But if you need any help just please let me know. And hopefully you got my message about the start dates I sent you for their descriptions

Since this mod is unable to be updated by you, will you allow others to work on it so that it can be updated to later versions and be able to take on later mods? I really would hate to see this mod just go to waste. It's one of the very few mods that really does add something new to the game and not just standard fair of changing family crests or making it goofy like those ones that make a mythical land of beasts like vampires and witches.

Oh no I am not sarcastic at all. I am saying that it sounds like you actually know more about modding than me. I kinda have started a little bit to learn about how to mod but not in great detail. But I can send you screen shots of what I am having an issue with to see if maybe you could fix it.

I have tried to edit the description for the vanilla game on the date for D-Day and that will even crash on me for some reason. Maybe you might know how to resolve this because you are so much better than modding than me.

Oh dude I know what you mean. Like I used to play BICE totally fine forever until about 2 months or so ago, when right when it got to the "Loading Database" on the initial load up screen, it would go from having the little stop watch showing it was loading to the blue circle for Windows, then when I did the control, alt, delete to see what it was, I noticed the message "Unknown error while loading files" in the background on my desktop. I have no clue what is making this thing just crash and burn all of a sudden when it never did it before. And I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and attempting to modify the .mod thing.

Somebody needs to stay behind and keep working on the Black Ice version HOI3. I know they have kinda moved on from 3 to 4 now cuz it's out but still, the new Black Ice for HOI4 isn't all the way done yet and some of us are still trying to play with the old one till the new one gets fixed.

Hello everyone and salutations to you all. Got a little bit of an update for those that are getting the message of the "Unknown error while loading files" where your cursor starts to go to the small spinning blue circle and then you have to ctrl/alt/del so you can force close HOI and get back to your computer looking normal.

So I did some experimenting and found out that really if you do ANYTHING to the files (and I do mean anything as in if you wanna change some text or place a mod in the mod folder) it will will end up stopping at the "Loading Database 2" but still I have no no idea why. Trying to work on finding that out to be honest.

Just out of curiosity, but will there be any more updates to this version of the Black Ice Mod or has the project been moved to the new HOI4?

I missed this mod for so long. The issue with the ones now a days that you find is either they are totally broken and or the links are missing. I really cannot wait till this is a full version of the mod with all the time lines and all the added extras put together into just one full mod instead of having to download little bits here and there over time. Plus, with the new 3.04 update that came out from the Paradox Forums, I hope that it works with that one too.

Man this has always been something that I wish Paradox would add to CK2 is Asia. I mean, they already have India so why stop there? Lol! I figured though that would be because the game would crash due to how large the map would end up being and how much would be needed for the game to process nearly 1,000 years of history from so many countries.

I either think that the mod is dead or the guy is really super busy with school work. I hope it's the latter.

Will these eventually (maybe) become a successor to the original "Dark Ages Mod" since that one is dead? Because I would like to see something where it really is the whole Crusader Kings 2 map from Western Europe all the way to India but like you can actually start as early as 320 AD for example.

When will the next update be and please don't let it be another year gone by before we see another fix/patch/update. It totally suck sitting here waiting and even thinking the mod was dead. Lol! And even if there is a new update, what kinda fixes and patches would be most likely seen in update 3.7 let's say?

I took the mod from the zip folder and placed it into the mod folder. Once I did that, I try to start the mod up and it instantly crashes. Anyone here know what's going on at all?

I have two (ish) questions about this mod

1. What will be the book marked start dates when the mod is completely finished?
2. As of now, how long will the mod run time wise (as in can you play from the 418 start time and literally play all the way till 1836 when EU4 is supposed to end)

My ish questions
1 ish: Will there ever be more factions across the rest of the globe? (as in being able to play as the Native American Indians or as more of the African tribes or even Japanese factions) Although I will assume that this is probably "No" because more than likely that would crash the mod due to it probably end up being it's own game at that point
2 ish: How historically accurate is this mod? (Not that I am doubting that you guys are using historical sources or anything, but just more or less out of curiosity how close is this to being right on par with history when you begin the mod with rulers and barriers/boundaries)

How do you exactly install this mod as well as the Constantine Rise of Christianity one? Like where does it go in the files so that they play?

Oh man! Super sad face here :( Like not to sound nosy and pry, but was it just taking to long to work on? We hate to see you guys go! I know for me personally, I always came back to check on the mod to see all the newest updates. But please, if there is anyway we can, could you guys maybe come back after taking a break/breather? This mod was such a great edition to the CK2 game.
