It's not free to play. You'll have to purchase the game whenever it's released on Steam or 14.99.

We've put an estimated release date on the website on Q4 of 2014 to Q1 of 2015. It took us some development until we could pull off a realistic release date and this is it. We're not going to delay it at all and it'll release within that time frame.

The game's early pre-alpha will be released to people that pre-ordered this week.

Steam release is still unknown, we're still deciding when it will be a good time. But it will be very soon! But if you pre-order, you'll be able to play it sometime this week!

There will be an early alpha on Steam coming extremely soon. We'll be entering early access program for Steam. You can purchase the game at a reduced price if you purchase it during early access stage, there you'll get access to the Alpha, Beta, and the full game. Sorry for the late reply, no it will not be. If you back, you get the chance to reserve your name in-game by filling out the surveys after Kickstarter. The sooner you back, the more likely you'll get to reserve your name.

You can use a debit card with Kickstarter. Just back and see what Kickstarter says and I'm pretty sure they do. Paypal store will not be opened until after our goal is reached on Kickstarter, thanks for the interest!

If Kickstarter goes well, we'll release early access in Q3 of this year. But final release depends on how many bugs have to be fixed and how many additions we still have to do. So, you can say almost Q1 of 2015 is the release date of the official game.
