Wow, this is really cool. I tried 96_rc of this and I liked the idea but it was still a little rough. This now is a lot more polished. Awesome. It has a unique feel to it and the diffrent classes all play very different. The Marine is like Brutal Doom Titanium lol! For me this once more breathes new life into Doom. Excellent work!

EDIT:

Corvus seems to be broken, I only get to use that yellow wand and his stick. Once that ammo is gone, I can't seems to get more, whether I play Doom or Heretic..

Another bug: playing Paladin, I get those "can't have too many shotguns" messages. But If I toss one from my inventory, I can pick up the one that prompted the message. After that I can pick up the tossed one again and have 3 shotguns. Same for machine guns.

I use Zandronum 3.1

You can use the Revenants Missile Launcher to fly already.

At first I thought the Dragon Breath shells were pretty OP but then I forgot I had them loaded :P

I really like the new triggers on the revenant launchers that's a cool feature.

There's a bug with reloading the shotgun while ads in the new quick patch (28th Feb).

If I empty the shotgun in ADS, next firing click will not initiate reload but turn the crosshair back on. After that, reload won't work until I right click once out of ADS. Manual pump is off.

All other ADS guns behave as expected.

Only loaded a PWAD, Brutaldoom 21 and your addon.

Hey I have a question. The changelog says:

"- The slug shells were replaced with custom made glass slug shells with a nail in them! Inspired by this video. (purely cosmetic change)"

What are their stats, what's the difference to buckshot?

I got it to run decently on lzdoom, tnx. Playing some more, good fun. Also cool that I can throw in your other weapons like the deagle :)

EDIT: After testing some more I have to say, the weapon balance you did is great. The minigin is now less useful on long range which makes me switch back to rifle more. Seems like you're making the right tweaks. And I love those glass shells. Such brutal feel :D

I was reluctant to try this because I get better performance on Zandronum.
I might still make the switch depending on how my box handles larger maps.

That being said, I really like your work! Great polish to the sprites, nice and beefy sounds, the pistol is finally satisfying :D I like the balance changes a lot too, little less op shotgun and auto-shotty. Headshots seem to work a lot better too, which is great. Some more monster variety but not too much.

This addon gives BD a slight nudge to a more arcadish feel, but much better and beefier than PB 3.0 tries to. It has everything I like about PB and better, but still maintains the vanilla BD feel. PB is ultimately too much in my opinion, especially with the over the top recoil. You added some too, but very considerately. And your axe throw is better too! (that axe sprite is neat!)

You done a great job on this, will test it some more.

EDIT: Ok, I need a hardware update to really enjoy this. I wish GZDOOM were more optimized. Other than that, this is really neat! Sound, features, tweaks and fixes are all top notch.

Ok, that sounds fine I guess. I personally don't mind the wind-up, I just don't like how I one-tap primary and ten bullets are shot uninterruptable. Does your change adress this as well?

Actually I don't understand your minigun. Primary fire has a short delay (just like bd) but will then fire a 10-Bullet spray that is not interruptable if I only click once. If I spay longer there are about 4 or so bullets that fire after I released MB1. Than makes it more or less useless because it wastes ammo. Just doesn't feel right if the gun does stuff you can't control. With this gun I only use alt mode, the primary makes no sense.

What's exactly wrong with the original minigun? It fires with a bit of delay on primary, on alt you get instant fire (after the barrels are spun up) but you be noisy.

All your fixes and additions are great, just this one feels off.

Hey just want to say this is great! Plays real smooth and is a lot of fun.
feels sound and polished, I have a good time. Being able to run this on Zandronum is a huge plus too

Funny thing is that I played this before even knowing doom'16.
I recently played the original doom'16 but it's kind of boring in comparison..too much red and too much dust.

With the right wad, this just rocks on doom1/2.

I tried other doom16 mods for doom but this is by far the most enjoyable. I like how nicely you redid the sprites for this, instead of just sampling the models ripped from doom16 like other mods do.

10/10 will play again often.

It's a very different experience from Doom and I kind of like it :) I have two questions:

1. I am running it on the latest gzdoom (stable) and the crosshair is not turned off in sight aiming. In BD I have to turn "force zdoom crosshair" off but here that doesn't do a thing. Is it intended to be played w/o crosshair?

2. Is there a sprint like in BD where you can't shoot? I understand the pace is slow, but when you have to walk longer distances through empty areas it becomes tedious. Also, some secrets that force you to reach a certain point in time won't work anymore.

There was a patch around here somewhere where the author claimed that BD`s head hitbox alignment was kind of sloppy on some monsters, did you address that as well? (sorry but reading your changelogs doesn't really tell me much).

Tested your patch some more, and I can't say anything fells off, so that's a good thing I guess :)

One thing I always wondered about: Why is alt-fire on Pistol a swap for single/burst? Why not make alt fire just fire aburst right away? I know it's more realistic (having to flip the switch on the gun) but I think it breaks immersion to have that message pop up all the time.

I now found the info in the description of the file on moddb. Sorry :)

But the latest file doesn't seem to have installation instruction inside apart from "[...] Create a shortcut to your preferred Quake engine" so I figured any port would do.

Looking forward to playing this :)

I'm probably stupid but I can't get this to run. I downloaded ezquake and tried to run it via a .lnk file with -game ad, but it says sv_error and quits.

I got a launcher (SQLauncher) that properly detects it, but then I end up on an ffa version of the q1 hub map :'( First time I actaully try to run a quake mod.. I own pak0.pak and pak01.pak of quake, they're in the ID folder..

Should I try a different port? Do you recomment one?

Very nice, just found this. Changelog looks like a lot of cleaning up and small tweaks. Great to see the crosshair is removed from ADS, so I no longer have to load an addon for it. Using this from now :) Thanks, much appreciated.

Did the overall balance shift to harder or easier?
