"Hey, armors without helmets are not planned and weren't available in the original game"
And you did great NOT to add NON helm armors! G1&2 are great for their realism even on simple things like this, though modern games ignore that!! More and more ppl in rpgs are mad about this, and dunno why someone would ask something like it...!

A diehard Gothic fan here.
Your work seems to be very interested as it combines assets from many projects.
Just one thing: From the very first time i played G2, eons ago, i was bothered with how the pass to valley of mine was guarded... I mean, a simple wooden fence and door with 2 knights, which is ridiculous, considering what horrors lurks behind it.

I once saw a mod, i dont remember which one was it, that has changed that area, or better say, fix it in terms of realism. There was a huge stone wall, with a nice iron gate, similar to a castle entrance, with room and beds for the Paladins guarding it. Have you done something similar to that specific area?

The reason i bought Bannerlorld is the unique ganeplay, with the hope that modders will give us medieval mods BUT i never imagined something like it... This is the dream of ALL medieval styled games fans coming true, in the unique enviroment of Bannerlord! I love full plate armors and i got so exited with the fact that you cover this time period! So far, the images with your job are crazy! For example, i see the inside of the cathedral and i cannot believe the scale and detail of your work! You are truly planning of bringing to "life" that medieval time period! Thanks for your amazing job!! Cant wait to play with it!

We all get excited with any new update but allow me this, silly, question: How come you did not proceed with a Dwarf update first, since is a faction that most ppl love more than those pointy ears??

Also, i payed a visit to Blood Keep and OMG!!! This is truly Dracula's castle!! I dont know how a big company could have done a better job..! Everything is AMAZING, and also very impressive your job creating Skeleton npcs and their armor, wraiths as well!!

All other updated towns are also impressive and huge! I assume you're going to do something similar impressive with Altdorf, right?

Let it work! In my PC takes close to 3hours, so dont worry, it will finish, eventually, and dont look at the number... Once its done you will transfer to main menu.

Im tracking this mod since day 1 it was posted here, and i was waiting for a solid playable version before i play it. As a fan of both fantasy Warhammer and 40k, i cannot thank you enough for your work!

I knew modding community will do amazing things with this game, as it offers a unique base to work with, BUT i never imagined projects so big, like this one, and others in the making!
Some game companies should really pay people ppl like you, cause for lots of players out there, YOUR work is the reason they buy some specific games!

About Skyrim, well, there is a modder that did 100% historical accurate plate armors of the medieval era ofc, as an overhaul mod, which was, for me, the ultimate dream for Skryim, for years BUT, unfortunately, cause of some copyrights with one of the companies it happend to borrow some assets, she removed it, and she just uploaded some images... It was the ONLY chance to see a true medieval overhaul in Skyrim...

p.s. Here's the page in Nexus but for some reason she also removed lots of the screenshots aswell and you cannot see all of her work!

Returnofreckoning.com There is a forum with all you need to know.Devs of that private server have done lot of work! They've evevn made the Dwarven-Orc capital cities which were not in live, from what i remember, and they have more plans for the future ofc.

Those armors, ok, they are SICK!!!! Weapons-shields too! Also, its great to see High ranked offiders with proper sets cause many times in games we do not see that, for some weird reason!
One question: Do you have all the required modding tools from company or there is still more to have?

We all want that and we hope for devs to find the time and strength to do it! For now, you can play on a private server of warhammer online as a Dwarf, Return of Reckoning if you like. Check it.

Is this for real??? As a fan of medieval era AND heavy plate armors in rpg games, this is what i was hoping for bannerlord, as im not interested at all for main game theme! Thank you for your work and for staying true to historical designs! Amazing!!!
This will be an overhaul mod or small scale? Also, if someone wants and have the ok from you, technically, can he use your assets for importing into a rpg, like Skyrim, those armors? Just curious.

You make everything from scratch?? WOW!! Dunno if you guys have done studies on 3d design etc, but what we see is a 100% professional work with high quality standards!

p.s. I mentioned the B.Orc Sovereign set cause i always thought that armor to be the best Orc set i have seen in any game so far!

When i first bought Bannerlord i knew that modding community will do nice things with that game BUT never thought of something like this! I mean, a few months ago i found a Lotr themed mod (Kingdoms of Arda) on the making and i could not believe my eyes...! Yrday, i saw another one for a Rome and even a Warcraft overhaul mod and after that this one, about Warhammer's old world! This exceeds my expectations by far! We have end up, gammers i mean, bying games with the hope that modders will step in and do their "magic". Words are too small to express our gratitude!
Btw, you make all those armors by yourself or you also import from other warhammer games? I was thinking if you can use assets from warhammer online, like the Black Orc Sovereign set (if it's possible to make an Orc faction) or the Khorne armor from Mark of Chaos.

By Gandalf's white big b***s...!! Is this for real? Maybe the dark gods playing games with my mind? This mod, together with the gameplay style of 'Mount & Blade II Bannerlord', which allows you to command an army like a rpg game, will be the ultimate experience for any fan of Tolkien's universe! This is one of the occasions where you wanna pay for it but you cant. I will say it again, God bless the modding community around the world cause through their hard work they raise games to another lvl entirely!

Yes, but what im asking is, the second part of the mod which takes us in Khorinis will be a totally new story or it will work together with vanilla story? If im not wrong i've read that many original placs will be restored, obviouly to look as they were years before the events of G2 so this means that chronological we will be on Khorinis years before the initiate events?
Also, will we be able to join Pala faction? If yes, pls make a nice texture update to the already amazing Pala-Knight sets. Thx for your answer!

Im tracking this mod for long time and im happy to see it is alive after the initiate team divided, making 2 different mods which ofc is good for players no matter how bad this might sound. Ofc, we all wish you had remained together, but anyway.
Watching several videos suddenly came up with a question: You say we will see ALL places of Gothic 2 again with new things cause the story takes us years before the events of Gothic 2 etc. That means we will play in those vanilla lands a totally different game with new quests etc? I mean, the original Gothic 2 will be a different gameplay, for anyone to try if dont know about it already, right?
Thx for your work! It' amazing to see professional made mods for that old BUT beloved game which has set so high the standards of what a pure RPG game should look like. Up to this day, in terms of realism and immerse feeling, Gothic 1 and especially 2 remains the KING, cause no matter how great some of the moddern rpgs are, companies that creates them refuse to follow the recipy Gothic 1-2 had on some specific things and it's really sad cause imagine all those new rpgs with those amazing features having the mechanisms Gothic 2 has on specific things... Wouldn't that be GREAT?!!
I guess, in some cases, Kings rules for ever!

One thing that made me worry about Vic7im's work on this mod is that he tried to alter too many of original game's mechanics which made things hard for him. Same for armor sets and other things aswell. I remember how he turned back from many ideas, losing time and enegry in the way. I believe this was a major factor for not finishing his work. Ofc, i cant blame anyone for abandon a 100% free project BUT at least he could have said something, like others have already mentioned! I mean, many of us, like myself, followed this mod for more than half a decade and we tried to help anyway we could! I really liked what he was doing and i was hoping to see it finished one day.
Anyway, i hope he and his family are safe and i wish him all the best!
For the rest of us, don't worry guys, many huge Gothic 2 mods are on the final stage like 'History of Khorinis' and 'The Chronicles of Myrtana'.
Take care all!!

I just found this mod and im happy to see another huge mod for my beloved game on the making! Just one question which might sound silly... I understand that there are many things going on with this mod, new lands, story etc BUT as a player that really loved Paladin faction from day 1 i tried G2, many years ago, is there a chance to have an updated version of Pala-Knight sets which are amazing?! Thx and i hope entire team is safe from covid-19 and ALL ppl around the world ofc!

I'm glad to see you back in action Vic7im! :)

It's interesting how you decided to go on a more G1 touch on some things, like the named Paladin's armors. You know how i feel about that specific faction in G2 and present them having Ore baron's set im not sure if it's what it needs. But again, it's your call! What about the rest of pala-Knight sets? Ηave you done anything with them? What you will use on npcs?
I remember you had many desings already made for ingame factions, you wont use them?

p.s. Militia medium and heavy sets are awesome! Also, pls tell me that you will use the outpost for the pass, you know...

Vic7im, i dont think you lost the respect of anyone here, especially from those that really want to see this project finished! It's just that ppl like myself waited for years to see this amazing work of yours, and watching you saying that you will not continue cause of some... you know... felt kinda weird... My thought was "why not take in mind all of us, that love his work!?", nothing else, no disrespectful thinking at all! As you said, modders spend valuable time to create something that others will use for free! We all have our lifes and we understand that time is valuable, and the daily stress can "break" even the strongest of us, thus i do not agree with the comment federicotobaldo made about your profile image, it was at least unfortunate...! Afterall, we are humans, not machines!
Anyway, i will keep what you said "In any case, I still hope that you'll play my mod one day, when it will come out" with the hope that you will finish it. :)

Hello Vic7im and all Gothic fans (stupid pricks not included).

It's been 4 years from the day i first saw this mod, August 2014.
I read your latest post and tbh, i'm kinda "mad" at you too for letting some spoilled kiddos affect you! You know very well what this project means to all of us that love Gothic 2! You have our gratitude and support in any way we can! There will always be idiots in every aspect of our lifes, what we must do is to shut them down! I told you once to delete posts that have nothing to offer or even worse... simple as that.

Personally, i will respect every decision you make but i really hope to find the time and energy to finish this project.
Take care!

Yes, it's still in beta, afterall i wrote it "(wip)".
There are plenty of mods in progress if you search the internet, most of them are about graphics and others about new lands and story ( Youtube.com amazing professional project, can't wait for it).

However, there is no reason to bother vic7im about it since he has done his homework about graphs etc. But what i mentioned is about a specific thing in gameplay and it's important so i thought to bring it up here.

Pls Vic7im, go to 2:03 and listen what he says about the dialogs and more important, what he mentions after that about sub-quests. You'll understand what i mean.
I bring this up cause especially the sub-quest thing is important, as i believe we all had problems with that in vanilla game.

Thorusus
First, who told you i'm mad at you, and especially for writing down your opinion? This kinda insults me, cause i don't have the right to act like you think i did, and i would be totally an arrogant prick if i was! I don't think i gave you or anyone else any reasons to think of that.
So, don't think about it. We all love this mod and yes, we are here to talk and help with our opinions. Cause that's what we are doing, otherwise it would be pointless to debate about anything. :D

Second, about what you said, we don't need to copy reality in every aspect of it. I mean, things like, if a militia officer can have a plate armor or not, cause uaually this was a Knight's set in reality, it's not an issue in a fantasy game. BUT things like, if soldiers must have shields or helms in a game like Gothic series, is important, cause affects directly the ingame realism and immersive feeling. Afterall, why do you think they changed that in G3? :)
Also, i said that only few militia officers should have that plate set, like in vanilla had the heavy militia armor. And if i'm not wrong, in G2 those npcs are maybe 2-3, even less... i don't remember well.
About the financial status of the city, ok, they have problem now, but it was not always like this. So again, we can assume that the militia heavy armors have been made during good times. It makes totally sence.

Third, about helms, i told you that initially this was not our subject here, i just wanted your opinion, cause i have this feeling that ppl do not want to see some necessary changes for the best, cause of some pointless nostalgia about vanilla things, which is not logical, at least not for me and thus, i cannot understand or justify it. Ofc, as you said, Vic7im have, and always had the final word in all this! We, by expressing our opinions, do not order him what to do ofc, just try to help him. There is a saying, "Two heads (minds) are better than one".

Yes, PB did some mistakes, and Vic7im luckily was able το fix some of those, like the lack of shields. And about horses, it's funny you mentioned it, cause you know, there is a mod that implements horses aswell... :))
I know what a masterpiece G1-2 is! I don'd need anyone to remind me of this but this does not mean that everything is perfect, right? Usually when someone points out some flaws, others assume that this person is blaming the producers in a bad way, trying to diminish them. Ofc, there are studios that deserve that for many reasons but not PB!
Here, because of our love of what PB created, we try to point out any flaws, hopping that Vic7im will be able to fix them, like he did!

p.s. "Innos, God of light, thank you for granting me, your humble servant, inner peace and enlightenment to face that evil, that wants to weaken our forces!".
Kidding...lol!
