ok, so I installed visual studio 1998 (6.0) in a winXP virtual machine, and set it up to compile, it went trough. Now comes the hard part, remaking first CS 1.6 before I continue to improve it into 1.7. For mp.dll theres ReGameDLL_CS, though that is already modified extensively to make use of modern C++ features and to compile in vs2015, making it work in vc++ 6.0 again will be a bitch. Then there's client.dll, which I can find no sources for other than cs16-client thats made for android of all things, so Im guessing it wont work on PC again without heavy modifications... sigh, lots of work ahead

Vanilla Half-Life I play at the max fps limit of 100, and I dont have this problem there. Here I tried to set the limit to 120 because I use a 120hz monitor. So thats causing it eh. Oh well, I used cheats to get past that and after that had no other issues and finished the game. Sure seems stable enough, so I will use it for my CS 1.7 project. BTW why is the source code made to compile in vc++ 6.0? I know the original HL SDK is like that, but this is a new engine, why not something newer like vs2010 or 2013 or whatever?

tried to beat Half-Life to see how accurate the engine is, and when you have to push the carrier with the probe into the machine at the start of the game, it won't move for some reason

That's great, I will test it with a friend later. I have a suggestion for version 1.0, would you, please, integrate OpenAL Soft into the engine, so it can do EAX and HRTF on a modern PC. The original HL WON could do EAX and A3D if you had the right sound card, like an Aureal Vortex 2 for example. With OpenAL Soft you can now have similar capabilities regardless of sound card. Various source ports for old games integrate it, like FTE Quakeworld or ioQuake3 for example, and it's great. Would love to have it in Xash3D as well Github.com

Will version 1.0 have good netcode for multiplayer games? Tried playing cs 1.3 in older versions of xash3d and netcode was pretty awful... I really want to make a CS 1.7 mod that has more guns and stuff, but I need good netcode
