The instuctions I have wrote out on here is for NON-STEAM users Steam users mean anybody who bought there game off of Steam an internet game store "except for the last part where it says Additional installation instructions only for Steam users:" it is for the store bought game, just follow the instuctions and it will work, now if this is too confusing for you go here Twcenter.net it might be a little easier..
Easy solution all you need to do is fine the .bat file which it should be located here "C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age\Third Age.bat" then once you find it just right click on it and make it a shortcut on your desktop then double click on it and the game will start....

My vertion of the game is not from Steam mine was bought out of a store so I cant help you if you got it off of Steam.. Sorry..
