The server may have been down when you tried to connect. Once you've started Quake 2/R1Q2, type 'connect vrx.dyndns.org:27910' in the console.

I noticed that the full client download is gone. That's odd, because there's no legal reason to delete it (it's just the Quake 2 demo + R1Q2 + Vortex files). Anyway, you can still get it here: 003ecae.netsolhost.com

Vortex is a multi-player mod: You need to connect to a server to play. If you have downloaded the full game install, you can just double-click the batch file 'PLAY VORTEX QUAKE 2' to start playing (it should automatically connect you to our server). If that doesn't work, manually connect to vrx.dyndns.org:27910 (type: 'connect vrx.dyndns.org:27910'). HTH!

Vortex is a multi-player game. Some of the content (e.g. monsters) is from the single-player game. It's unlikely that Vortex will ever have a single-player mode, although coop-play isn't out of the question. Why don't you download the game and give it a try? :)
