I reloaded an old save and it works pretty well now. Weird glitch I suppose, but I'll look for those if it doesn't work again.

You just got one. I figured out a bit later the stuff was in the cages next to the room instead of getting added to my inventory, but the HE ammo was still caged up after I bought it.

Nice to still see you around with new stuff. That said, I downloaded this new version and loaded it up. Is there any list of changes out there for this 2018 version? As for the DLC contents, I noticed Cody cheated me out of some stuff and took my credits on the Epilogue DLC. Has this been addressed at any point?

Thank you.

>Where probably not going to see another version for awhile

This is very likely, as I think as of this point there really isn't *much* of a HDTP team anymore (life and all of that). And all of us who are still half-interested are coders. Couple that with the lack of general user demand / hostility over HDTP character textures. (I notice most mod authors now are disabling them anyway and the number left, 8 total done out of about 100 or so in the game, pretty much dictates against it).

Those of us who are interested can definitely package new textures and animations. The problem is that a good number of new (and desired by the user-base) textures/animations would be required to make a good fourth release interesting.

As you may have read on the OTP Thread announcing this, I got the request for a HDTP+New Vision combo installer (both projects are pretty much at "that point") and just received permission from all the relevant parties, so I'll be uploading it sometime today to my personal list. While it's nothing "official" from either camp, you probably will know best how to classify it.

No idea whether it'll cause problems or not, since it'd just be installing on top of another version of HDTP.

But tried it myself and noticed the medkit and soyfood textures updated off an old save game, so might be worth trying with the warning that YMMV and there might be something that might end up being wrong.

Thanks to whoever moved this to the proper spot (as I don't have access to link things here when I upload, evidently). As far as the pictures go, you can go on the OTP forum link announcing this and find fuller screen versions or go into my personal images set (https://www.moddb.com/members/ggrotz/images) and find those "better" images.

Actually it's a 24-bit BMP file and it's unsupported. Load it up in your favorite editor and lower the number of colors and save it, and it'll work.

Note to all that read this: There is now a new release (HDTP Beta Release #3). Please take a note of it.

All you needed is just the "Beta Release 2" installer. Note: There is a release #3 now. Same deal, all you need is that file.

You need to path both in your INI file, the shifter one before the HDTP one.

Paths=..\Shifter\*.u
Paths=..\HDTP\System\*.u
Paths=..\System\*.u

It works.

You need Shifter 1.9 for HDTP to work. As far as the character models, look in the menus for "HDTP options" and set things there. The MJ12 model is bugged (in the public release), so leave that off for now.

Not Steve. This is just a file that was kicking around that Steve put out a very long time ago on DXEditing, and kind of got lost and found a number of times since then. I just decided to go ahead and upload it and here you have the file.

Old saved games are incompatible with HDTP.

Are you using one of the modern Deus Ex renderers? If you are, you need to be sure that DetailTextures=True in the renderer settings and if you are using D3D9 or OpenGL that UseS3TC=True is set as well.

Are you using a relatively modern renderer (eg. donhal's dx9 or opengl, kentie's dx10)? If so, the following line needs to appear in your renderer settings:

DetailTextures=True

I'm working on refining the installer. Chief of which is trying to get good default settings for the renderers I packaged in the installer. If people would, please look at the thread here: Offtopicproductions.com and give me some idea if there's some proposed defaults that will not work. Thanks.

The installer is as the description states, plus the desktop jpgs out of HDTP Beta 1.

I found a bug in how the program interprets the path, and am working on version 2.01 to fix this.

Sounds like an old file isn't getting overwritten properly. But like I suggested, feel free to try the installer out I linked to below.

There was a beta release 1 (the one about 3-4 years ago). This is the second not final release so this is beta2 that is in the installer.

Whoever uploaded the original zips to the HDTP project did a horrible job labeling and naming the files. All three files are "beta 2".

Hope that clears up the confusion.

FWIW, I did an installer with the beta packages (HDTP Release #2 Beta). I uploaded it to moddb but I couldn't get it to link over here for some reason. Here's that, if you aren't already aware that it exists:

The installer has a version check consistent with the typical international (English) version of Deus Ex. This means it's looking for 1112f or 1112fm. Look in DeusEx\System for Manifest.ini. Open that and look for the section "[Deus Ex]" and then look in that section for the line that starts with "Version". Change it to read "Version=1112f". (all without the quotes of course)

Then as long as you are running that basic code base, the installer will go ahead and run. Of course, after you run the installer you *might* need to change it back. But if you do that it should be fine.
