You using my animations for the shouldered weapons? If so: nice!!! I'm very happy to see it used in other mods :D

Will you also do the whole shoulder-to-shoulder spacing as well? It's totally doable.

Hey,

So I looked it up, and you get indeed get the OG version--IF you buy the Remastered. It apparently adds both to the library, but doesn't install OG.

I could be mistaken, so please verify this before you try this.

I never understood why CA did that. This should have always been an option--especially since RR was so poorly received (and I think, for good reason).

Yes, for Alexander.

Well, ever since RTW remaster was released, it's not been possible to purchase the original version without getting the remaster.

As a result, when it's done for Alexander, I'll port this to Remaster

I come from the future to let you know that I ended up doing this.

I'll wait till I'm done with OG, and then consider RR.

For the Hubaoji, you can simply change the mount to another one that's similar. That can be done by finding the unit in the EDU, and changing the mount entry.

Though TBH, It would make life easier if the mod were modfoldered. That, sadly, is beyond me.

Just saw your post:

The mountains are there. At the time this was made, the mountain texture hadn't been added (though the DEM was already in).

Eventually. The idea here is to have a complete mod for those who prefer the OG (suprisingly common, as it happens), and then switch over to Remastered.

TBH, I've been planning this for some time: the opportunities Remastered offers are too good pass up: more factions, a better scripting option, and fewer limits on unit sizes, etc.

"High disciplined line infantry animations are good but so slow."

Because they were in life; same for reloading speeds. Unfortunately, the game only permits one reload animation per unit. If it were up to me, I'd have multiple--to show how some would tap load (a real procedure), while others fumble around.

"I hope u make irregular unit line infantry animations for lower disciplined line infantry units"

You can make one with a slower loading animation, but that's about it. I do have an "irregular" animation in the works, but it's really geared toward light infantry.

"Also like in Ogniem i Mieczem mod u should make 3 different versions of each type animations for high-standart-low reload times."

Way ahead of you:

There will be 2-3 loading animations, and 3 possible march speeds.

"there are 2 mods for napoleonic era but in that modes there are no ranged cav.. "

The Hanoverian cavalry and IIRC the Hessian cavalry are both ranged in this mod.

Hi,

Been a busy year so far, but I'm pretty much done with Denmark-Norway. Am now working on the Dutch.

Nothing really new on mechanics or campaign stuff: I really need help with the latter, but no one goes through with this.

Hi,

I hardly use the TWcenter nowadays, and atop that have been doing fieldwork for my IRL studies, so apologies for the delay.

I'm interested in your offer, but have received no message from twcenter or elsewhere. Either way, please do not hesitate to share what cards you have produced.

Thanks!

That's the eventual plan. But for now, let me finish up the OG version.

Excellent!

So I gave the game a go, and it's so far looking good!

Would it be possible if I can use Wlesmanna's saber animations for my own mod? they're very good, and I wouldn't mind replacing the saber animations I have with them.

Sorry for not getting back to you for a whole year: never saw your comment till now.

As to your question: BAI is still a work in progress, though I've made headway teaching the AI to actually use the musketeers to shoot at each other (and to use the artillery--another rarity).

Everything Campaign related is bare-bones: haven't had help to actually polish it off.

1-Yes, I did. It was my first.
2-Already have a new map. But this much of the map in the south is there for a reason--one that needs the campaign to be fleshed out.

Sorry for the delay: I've been in the field.

But to answer the question:

"Where in the files might I find the shortcut? "

Let me quote the instructions:

"As with the previous version: unzip wherever your exe is, and CREATE A SHORTCUT with the following structure:" --had to make the relevant part in all-caps so you can see it.

As to the part you don't understand: basically, that's to tell the shortcut where your alex executable is. I don't know where you have the game installed, so what you'll have to do is find the directory for your Alexander executable. That'll be what you use. Just make sure the end looks exactly as you see up there.

Sorry for the delay in response.

As to your question: the mod began on the CD version, and should work on that (it's partly why I uploaded it here, and not on Steam--assuming it even allows it; never tried or asked).

Meantime, if you must know: I've decided that, in light of the relative lack of changes in file structure, to go ahead and just work on both in parallel--but the OG will always take priority, until it is finished.

The only thing slowing me down is the PhD research I have to do (and that ALWAYS takes priority. This mod's my hobby; my research is my calling).

To be honest, though, I'm not sure how relevant it'll be in a month's time. I've posted an article about this, which hopefully should be approved by the Moddb people. It'll go into detail regarding the future direction of the mod (or rather, my not knowing what this will be).

EDIT: Figured it out. It was an issue with the steam launcher shortcut.

So I tried it out, and I must say: this is a massive upgrade over the regular SS mod (itself already great). Got to play as the Abbasids and Fatimids in battle, and it must be said: this is one of the most historically accurate depictions out there. Clearly, there's more work to be done, but this is an amazing step!

Is there anything there you need help with? I can't model, but I can provide some textual and artistic depictions from the region, which may aid in this mod. Not entirely sure how helpful they'll be, but hopefully they might.

Yep; actually I've been doing a comprehensive survey on muskets, to make better ones. This will be in preparation for when the Russians get done (they're currently on the agenda).

Just haven't been posting as many updates, because I've been busy with my PhD studies. Actually, one of the reasons I'm doing the survey now is because it can be done under the circumstances.

Does this occur with the French alone, or is this across the board?

If this happens across the board: I remember another user whose smkoke was dsiabled by the presence of a d3d8.dll file (or similarly named). Do you have something like that?

He now knows this is meant to bring the 18th century experience into an earlier game. He's just been left no room to argue.

If he tries anything more serious, I'll take care of it.

I did since the time the picture was taken, rename Budapest to Buda, to better reflect 18th-century Geography. A great surprise is just how close Pressburg (Nowadays Bratislava) is to Vienna.
