Comments such as these are inspiring.. I have dropped out of PhD, went through a depression, and successfully changed careers. It has been a strange time for me. I am having a 2 months vacation this summer. I had been working on DoC v2 for some time on and off now over the past two years. Do not count me out yet. While I cannot make promises, I can say that I was set to make three releases and I plan to finish the job.

Delete the mod. Check the install directory when reinstalling. It should be "...\mods\DoCv1.3".

This is strange. I need to see error log located inside the mod folder after the crash. Can you attach it at twcenter forums?

Unfortunately, not yet misuk. This is just a more polished version, worth a try. However, it will be a few more weeks before expansion. I have another week off, will be working hard at it.

I screwed up the installation directory. I will reupload it shortly. You can reinstall but make sure you fix the directory to "Medieval II Total War\mods\DoCv1.3. Anyways I am introducing a few fixes/changes. So, I will just repack it again. Give me a few hours.

Its a simple resolution problem. In the mod folder right click on the DoC.cfg and click edit with Notepad (or whatever test editor you have). Change the resolution there.

Many seem to have this problem. Right after the crash, can you send me your log.txt from the mod folder? I will have a look.

The mod is installed into Medieval II Total War/mods/DoC folder. You then apply patch into that folder. If you are installing anything into Americas folder, then you are doing it wrong. Hope this clarifies.

Does it crash when you play other factions?

Could you please upload your log.txt from the mod folder right after your game crashes. There might be some clues. Please post it at twcenter.net forums homepage.

I installed the steam version of med2. DoC worked just fine, campaign and everything. I have windows 10. I would suggest reinstalling your steam medieval 2 + kingdoms. Make sure you have kingdoms expansion. If you still do not get it working post your log.txt from DoC folder after campaign crash on twcenter forums. Link under Homepage on the right. I will have a look.

There is no castle-to-town option. It would defeat the strategic element currently present in the game. Castles produce high quality troops. Towns are trade centres with local garrisons for maintaining order. This way you need to plan your conquest.

Since its a specific and reproducible crash, it can be easily fixed. But i need to know exactly what went wrong. Please post your full error "log" from under DoC folder at twcenter forums. Link on the right "home page".

Yes it should. But, its not save-compatible. Or rather, old saves will work, but funny things may happen. To know for sure, when you get a crash, post your log located in DoC folder at twcenter forums. Link under "home page" on the right.

Patch 1.25 is out. It fixes some critical bugs and crashes (and possibly introduces new ones :D).

Your feedback/reports are very welcome. I am aware of some critical crashes. Its already fixed on my end. But I am also half-way into implementing some ancillaries and new stuff. So, I decided to wait a day or two and release the hotfix together with the 1.3 patch. Either way, it will be "start a new game" patch. To fix it yourself for now, simply delete the "unit_info" folder under "/DoC/data/ui/" and you will have less or no crashes, just so you can finish the current campaign.

PS: I am on Windows 10 too. No problems there.

Glad you like it! There are a few glitches still. Fixed in the upcoming patch later today.

I am aware that cash is limited at start. I am thinking to increase it a little for lower difficulty levels. What difficulty are you playing on? Is it good as it is, in your opinion? Or too hard?

Ok, I installed the steam version, renamed a copy of medieval2.exe to kingdoms.exe and pasted the DoC folder under mods folder. All working ok, campaign and custom battle. My guess is you need to reinstall your steam Med2 fresh. Maybe some other mod messed up your core files.

Understood. I am using the cd version to mod. I will try the steam version and see if I can figure out the issue. Give me a few days.

1) Add a new "DoC" folder to your "Medieval II total war/mods" folder under steamapps or wherever it is.
2) Make a copy of the "medieval2.exe" and rename it to "kingdoms.exe".
3) Finally, run the DoC installer and point the installer to the new DoC folder. Check if the mod works.

Alternatively, try googling "how to install mods on Med2 steam version".

Try to change resolution in Settings or go to doc.cfg right click -> edit, there change to "windowed = false".

Hi there. Simply change the install directory to wherever your Med2 is.

Good points. Will look into diplomacy. Regarding rebel armies, they are dynamic based on campaign difficulty. If you play on easy there are mostly static rebels in forts. On higher levels in addition you get two almost full stacks roaming around. Roger Mortimer one of them!

Done. Lowered their armour a bit (it was already very low btw), compensated with melee skill (overall same armour in melee). Should be more susceptible to arrows, but not too much. This simulates vulnerability of their horses (still unprotected in 14th century). However, once in melee archers stand no chance anyways. Longbowmen can plant stakes, use that. Unfortunately, its hard to properly implement longbows in the game and crossbowmen shoot almost as fast.
