Game structure completed!

In the last week, i made lots of stuff.

I created the game structure (beginning, middle and the end), i corrected lots of bugs and i improved the menus and included a settings menu!

More screenshots (or even videos!) coming soon!

Sound programming

In this week i worked on creating the sound programming. The plan was to create the code which will call the sound on each object and i did that with placeholder sounds.

My teammate Roque is taking care of the sound design itself and implementing on each object by replacing the placeholders with the sound he edited.

In this past two weeks i have been working a lot in the Captain Plank game with a lot of productivity.

First i improved the AI of the enemies with the help of our teammate Nuno then, i implemented an animated model on each enemy which we got in the asset "Polygon pirates".

Finally i created a skill system in the game in which the player has 4 different skills which will be unlocked trough the game.

First we have a skill that increases the run speed of the player temporaly, second we have a skill that temporaly increases the damages the players give (by the sword or throwing objects), thirdly we have a skill that makes the player throw a grenade that explodes and lastly we have a skill that makes the player make a burp so big that does damage to the enemies!

For now i used placeholders on the UI of the skills system and on the animations of the skills but our teammate Roque will take care of that.

First days in a new team and project

Basically at the beginning of the semester, the team which i was working on the final project in my college (which was called "Rush-Fu") left so, i needed to get new team members or simply join a new one.

Unfortunately i couldn't find in my class people interested in joining me so, i joined another team who are doing a project which is a 3D top down hack and slash game based in a pirate theme called "Captain Plank".

My first task was to program a throw ability for the main character the player controls.

Because of the skills i got in the project before, i did that task quickly and my teamates were impressed by the quality, quickness and efficienty of my work.

I'm quite motivated in working in this project and i hope i don't disappoint my team and our teachers.
