I installed the UnrealHDFull V3.1 Skins, and I installed them in Unreal Gold and UT99 436. I'm running Windows 10 Home, latest version. I'm also using the 4K Extreme textures, latest available, running with D3D11. These all work properly. The 3.1 skins didn't work well in UT99, causing unexpected glitches. The glitches caused Unreal Gold Unreal to no longer use the 4K textures, but revert to the original ones. I had no way of fixing this condition. I had to restore a day old system backup to get the issues fixed. I removed the files that came with the skins that I downloaded. I stopped using them. My question is: Are there skins I can use that will work with my system?

I downloaded the HD4K Extreme Resolution Edition v3 for the Direct X 11 renderer, and I installed both the textures and the Direct X 11 render in Unreal Gold and in UT99.

The Direct X 11 render is working in both of those games. However, the HD4K textures don't appear to be working, though both games work, just not the textures.

I understand that I should include the Use S3TC=True statement in both the .ini files and in the Preferences > Advanced Options > Rendering sections for DX11. However, there is no option in either of the games Preferences sections to select S3TC. I added it to the .ini files, but it made no difference.

Maybe I installed them wrong. I copied the Texture folders in the 2 downloads to each game's Texture folder. Note: I copied the folder over. Is that the same a copying over the contents? I thought copying over the folder would bring over the contents.

What to do?

Edit: I loaded a system backup I had made just before I copied the downloaded 4K Extreme textures folders over to my games.

That move restored my Win10 system, and gave me a chance to redo the installation of the 4K textures.

This time, I copied over just the contents (not just the folder) of the 4K textures folder. I think that move fixed my issues, at least it seems, for now, to have done so. We'll see.

Even so, there still is no option anywhere to select Use S3TC=True. The 4K Extreme textures seem to be working, though.

I installed in UT99 and in Unreal Gold/Napli the HD 4K 4.3GB extreme edition textures. To install them, I simply copied the various items to the texture folders of the 3 games. However, they don't look right. I have the following errors in the Log:

I have installed successfully D3D11 Renderers, and they're running on UT99 and Unreal Gold/Napali.

I would like the graphics to work properly. Does any one have some idea of what I should do?

All,

I fixed the problem where the mouse wasn't working. Not knowing what else to do, I reinstalled everything. That fixed it! Mouse is now working. Go figure.

I sent you an email on this topic, but I guess you never got it. Anyway, recently, I installed Return To Na Pali: Ultimate Edition v1.1 HD on Unreal Tournament 99.

After installing it, I launched the game using the shortcut .bat program that came with the update. At the very beginning of the game, where one is standing on the raised metral platform, I noticed that the mouse does not work properly. That is, it does not move at all (can't look around and direct movement). The two fire buttons work. One can shoot.

The other keyboard controls work (forward, back, side to side arrow keys, fire using left mouse, etc., just no mouse movement.)

The mouse works properly in the regular UT99 game. In the regular UT99 game, I’ve set the Input Preference options for the mouse to use Mouse Look, Mouse Smoothing and Auto Aim. It works properly with those settings. The mouse also works in other games, and in Windows.

In the Ultimate Edition section, In the Preferences options, where the mouse arrow pointer works, I set the mouse to use the same settings as those in the regular UT99 section. The mouse doesn’t work, as indicated.

I tried the other settings, Direct Input, etc., but no combination of settings enables the mouse to function properly. It does not cause one to be able to look around at all.

I have a basic 3 button Logitech mouse, with no mouse software installed. I even purchased another mouse, a Microsoft mouse, but I get the same results. That is, it also doesn't work, same problem as the Logitech mouse. I've tried using a different USB port, too.

I’m running Windows 10 64 bit. The mouse works properly everywhere else.

Maybe you have some idea about what should I do about the mouse problem?

Edit: (1) In an attempt to fix my problem, I set the Security for this mod to allow full access for everyone. That didn't help.

(2) When I launch the game, and I select Run as Administrator, I get the message "Batch file should be placed in the UT99 root directory."

I believe that the batch file is already in the UT99 root directory. It's placed there by default, as far as I can tell.

I launch the game normally by just clicking the .bat shortcut from the desktop. It launches properly and I can select options as usual.
