I've been making skins since Kingpin came out. Released m first for SOF, and since then, I've made skins for SOF2, HL2, Doom3, Far Cry, and more.

So, how do you play this? It has no instructions. I loaded it using GZDOOM, and it loads the normal game. I tried it in Zandronum and it crashed.

Sorry for the belated answer. I don't really know where to get it, and I don;t really have any tips. I am on windows 7 64 bit, and the game runs fine. I'm on a laptop.

The enforcer is in his own folder. Make a copy of the "models" folder and put it in the mod's folder. Then the enforcer will show. It's a problem with the mod. My upcoming skin pack for that expansion will have its own enforcer.

This pack works in Quake 2 only. I will make 2 new packs for the expansions. I'm working already on that, and I found the supertank in one of the expansions just doesn't load. I contacted Q2XP's creator and he said he'd get back to me on that.
I will also be posting pictures of the monsters. I have, so far, the stalker ready, the gekk, super tank b, gladiator b, and the 3 new soldier types from xatrix. I will not do the turrets.

Change the extension of the skins file from .pkx to .zip and extract the "models" folder into your baseq2 folder.

I cant make the boss5 skin load. Its a 32 bit tga file, 2048 x 2048.
I tried differrnt sizes, made a pkx, and no luck. It loads when i use it in boss1. Any ideas?

How do you load custom content? I have a set of monster skins that I can't figure out how to use with your source port.
I have bump and difuse, 32 bit TGA files, but they just don't show.
Any help?

Quake2 Evolved - Rename to pk2

I dont think normals or light textures work

Quake2Max and Berserk are not supported ATM.

Fixed it. Now my skins don't load. Ivave the same set up as in Q2XP, which is a folder within the baseq2 folder. I tried making a pk2 file, but they didn't load either. I have SKIN.TGA and SKIN_BUMP.TGA in there, but they don't show.

It may work. I wouldn't know, because I can't get it to run, and the creator seems to have no interest in the community. I have found lots of people have the same "error initializing video" problem, but not a word from the creator about it.
I'll stick with Q2XP for the time being.

Got it. I used the height map in the diffuse alpha,because some of the wall textures do that. Also, the skins included have an alpha channel, where the skin parts are masked, but that makes it too pink.

I seem to be having a lot of trouble with my new skin textures. They either look super shiny, like they're covered in slime, or they have red patches. Why?
I am using height as the alpha in the skin file, and specular in the normal file.
Any pointers?

Black adds redness to the skin, making the Strogg look way too healthy. Nice pink skin, like a baby. I desaturate the diffuse and apply the high pass filter on it, then use that as the alpha for the diffuse. Works better than pure black and white.

Dunno. I made the new skin 512 x 512 and it wouldn't show. I had to use the original size, and that's not a powers of 2. Weird.
